Need help with Steeda oil separator install

Where the h3ll am I supposed to cut this? This is hard plastic and not rubber hose. I called Steeda today and they said to cut the hose and splice it in ...this hose is hard and has 0 flexibility; It will bind. I'm not cutting shlt until I know exactly how this thing is going to fit. Help! Pictures etc appreciated .

Hmm that's weird, I have the JLT piece and it just snaps right on, no cutting involved.

instead of cutting you can get another piece of hose and then just plug it in. use the existing hose and the new hose. You can always go back to stock easier if the need arises

Yes the JLT comes with everything. Hoses and connectors attached.

Pop the stock hose off, and the JLT piece on. Piece of cake, and takes 30 seconds.

What you see in the picture is what the Steeda unit came with. It also has 4 hose clamps in a bag , that is it.

I talked to Gus today. Im returning it and getting the jlt. Im just not convinced to cut that stock piece when jlt sends you a new one already spliced with the connections.

I think it's the best move. You won't regret it

I took them for their word and made the cut and didn't have any issues. I used a sharp pair of cable cutters and it went right thru.. I connected the oil seperator and used the clamps to secure it. All you needed is a little faith in Steeda, was not hard at all.

Well... This thread just sold me a JLT separator... I ordered a passenger side one... Is the driver side necessary?

They say it's not unless you take your car off roading.

You know I gotta say it's amazing that this is so difficult. 2 pieces of rubber hose it all it takes, that's it. You can buy it at any parts store, and frankly it's better to use than the plastic stuff. I mean plastic tubing with a oil separator hanging off it is asking for trouble.

Pop the stock hose off, slide on a rubber hose to the PCV and run to the Steeda separator, the one from the separator to the intake. EASY.

The instructions should have said that Sam. The instructions said how to piece the catch can together which even I could figure out. The instructions spend valuable space on how to screw the can together and not the actual install. Even the picture in the instructions was with a Boss intake and what appears to be a nitrous nozzle; Nothing like a GT. This is not the first time the instructions that I have received from Steeda were subpar. The CAI instructions were not great and the tuner didn't even come with any; I got lucky and figured that out on my own. Their craftmanship, parts, and tuning is world class but whoever writes the instructions needs some assistance. I only want Steeda parts because in my opinion they are the best, unfortunately I'll have one JLT now. You have to remember that most of us on here do not work under the hood of a car for a living and need to have our hands held with this stuff.

I've experienced the same thing, their instructions are poor. Steeda should completely revamp the installation literature they provide customers. Have a cover page showing the end result. Use cartoon-like pictures to depict the tools you need to begin. One picture per step. Put giant numbers in the upper corner of each step, similar to an Ikea manual. It should be stupid easy. Not only would better instructions make the install simpler for the customer, it would reduce e-mails and calls into their tech support. It also helps ensure the part is installed right the first time which might lower warranty claims and other general mishaps. Pretty much a win/win all around. Provide color instructions that have real pictures.

Business Protip #2: Create a Steeda YouTube channel and record the installation of all your new products. Show people how simple it is. You will rake in all kinds of money.

Poor instructions caused Steeda to lose this sale, and possible a lot of others. Even if you think this was common sense, you can only assume others have had the same question.
