MY OCD Just cost me more $$.

When I bought my 2012 GT, I told myself, "No Mods" this time.
For 10 months I have been doing 'okay'.
Well, I havent done much. GT 500 Axlebacks, hoods struts and an K&N air filter (not CAI).
I love my stock wheels but they are 18x8. I really dig the look of the GT 500 SVT Wheels.
Well, I got stupid on ebay and bought a set 19x9.5 front 20x9.5 rear with tires.
I'm not even sure how they will look on a stock GT.
And how to pay for them without letting the wife know how much I spent....
and I have a burton shifter on it's way.....and made arraignments for a 3.73 gear to be installed.
Anyone else as impulsive as me?

Don't feel bad, I'm sure she'll understand when she sees how good those wheels look.

I'm trying to grow a set and go through with a tune and possible boss intake. Shutter......

Why did you get small diameter for the front though?

Staggered setup looks better. Besides, the wider the tire is up front the more they like to "wander", esp if the roads aren't the best.

Diameter isn't how wide it is. I was asking why get 19" in the front and 20" in the back.

My bad, I didn't read it thorough enough. I'll agree that is strange

Lol, I have much more restraint than you guys. I had planned not to mod. I lasted 5 months before the money made a run for it. I'm hoping it doesn't recruit more of it's friends from my wallet. I'm poor enough.

I know, just ordered a Boss quad exhaust. Within the first month had tint and a muffler delete done. The only thing going for me is that I have no $$$ for mods. lol but the casino was nice enough to let me win $1000 so I am getting a Boss quad exhaust.

I will post a clip when installed.

OP I know the feeling. I want rims so bad. Once my tax refund comes I may have to look into rims or a 'ghost cam' tune.

that is the factory diameter on the GT500 19's up front, 20's out back.

interestingly enough it also runs different height tires. fronts are around 27" and the rears are 28"

OP.. I understand how you feel. I've had a set of staggered American Racing Torq Thrusts just sitting in my garage since October.. Just waiting for spring.

Of course, to make those new wheels look their best, you'll need to lower the car a little.................

And more $$.

This is good. I feel like I am at an AA meeting or the like. Except I am not trying to kick the habit, I'm getting amped about buying more stuff.

How much of a drop is the GT 500 vs the Stock GT? Anyone know?

Probably no more that half an inch. Even the stock GT500 could do with lowering, in my opinion.

I'd go with Ford Racing or Eibach springs for a 1.25-1.50" drop.

Of course, larger disks would look great behind those new wheels too

And the saga continues. I have only added the stripes and I have a build like that is 18K large. My wife was like, WTF?!!! Now she gets it.

Oh Crap. I didn't even think about how small my brakes are going to appear. Gotta upgrade my brakes now. It is a slippery slope isn't it.
