Longtubes with stock mufflers

This may seem like an odd combo, but I want the performance gains of the LT's without the obnoxious noise. Already have tuner w tunes for life from my previous stang which was totaled out. I'm keeping the stock muffs, but painting them black and then adding some 4" chrome tips. Also going to eliminate the reduction in pipe diameter just before the h-pipe (see pics below). Since mufflers are usually the first mod, there isn't a lot if info on the LT + stock muffler combo. I'm wondering what your thoughts are about how loud/quiet it will be. Also performance gains, what kind of numbers to expect keeping stock intake, mid-pipe, resonators, and stock mufflers with only a tune and longtubes. Your feedback is much appreciated

There are a couple cars I know of that are doing this and are making the same power as if they had a aftermarket cat back.

Let us know if we can help you out at all, we have a pretty large selection of Headers and mid pipe to choose from

I live in an inspection state, ( N.J. ), which also states " no " exhaust modifications. So the last thing I need is to be pulled over for loud pipes. Can't speak to your install, but I have Kooks 1 3/4" with catted X pipe, running into the stock exhaust. My tuner tells me I can gain a few extra hp with a cat back. To me it's not worth it.
My last dyno, Feb. 2012, had my 11 making 756 @ the tires.....I don't see it as an issue.
.....................If I need noise, just put my right foot down..

You could put long tubes on and keep the stock catback but you'll have to get a shorty midpipe to go with the headers unless you want to do some serious fabricating then you could possibly maybe keep the stock midpipe

I will have pieces custom bent to meet up w the LTs. That will be much cheaper and have similar results. I'm fortunate to have friends with a lot of tools and a lot of lifts. This should be installed in the next 2 or 3 weeks, I will post some pics.

Any idea on how loud this will be?
