Just wondering about mufflers

Has any one opened up the stock mufflers? Has anyone tried modifying stock mufflers. I don't know much about this but on bikes you could just remove baffles from pipes. Anything similiar here?

I've done the same with dirt and street bike mufflers, but these would be more difficult to open up and weld back together. I'm sure there is flow to be gained by messing around with them though
