JLT Oil Separator problem maybe ?

Well I can tell you that it does catch oil just dumped some out but anyways the reason I'm posting this because since there is no support bracket for the separator I have noticed the PCV is a bit loose. My concern is that it may crack from to much play since there is no support bracket ? Has anyone else have had any problems or not ?

I've got 25K miles on mine and no issue. But if someone comes up with some type of bracket system, I'd love to see it.

I too don't like how my Oil Separator just hangs there.

Bob's oil separator actually bolts up and has been proven to catch more.

No issues that I've seen from my JLT but haven't looked in a while.

Only issue I had was with the fittings and was told they don't use plastic fittings while I was staring at a stripped plastic fitting. So basically I got blown off and they are still the same way.

My JLT actually rests on the radiator hose. So I tie wrapped a piece of rubber there so the can doesn't wear on the hose itself.

What I don't like is the hose is routed from the pcv valve to the separator between the oil fill cap and the electrical connector for the cam timing. This makes it hard to get the oil fill cap off.

I have the JLT and it bothers me just hanging there also. I have trouble keeping it off the timing sensor, concerned it will break the wire or unit. How was Bob's proven to be more effective?

A guy on the SVT forum lined up the JLT and Bob's in series. The results showed a fairly significant amount of oil got past the JLT only to be caught in Bob's. That was enough proof for me to buy Bob's over the JLT oil separator.

Keep wasting your money. If you are FI then yes you need it. I had no issues with my 4.6 and no issues with the 5.0 as far as oil in the intake plenum.

Well emptying the oil it catches tends to make you a believer, it's a longevity mod.

It is up to you if you want to invest in this and have some extra peace of mind. I have one and like it when ever I can prevent oil from going back in the intake.
The only reason that oil is being routed into your intake to be burned is that it is not allowed anymore to have it dumped overboard. This was the only solution car makers had. So by knowing that alone you realise that the PCV system was a compromise by the manufacturers.
