Installed Roush Axel Backs.......

Ordered the Roush Axel Backs from American Muscle, went to the Ford Service garage by my job to get them installed. All I can say is WOW!!!!! I'm upset I didn't get these sooner. It's a definite must. The sound is amazing, very subtle drone. I'm in love.

Congrats man. I've got them on my 5.0 and love the sound. I have zero drone with mine.

Have you drilled the water drain hole in those BRAND NEW Roush ABs yet?

Nope, cause I have no idea how to do that or why to do that. Is it to prevent the rusting?

It's a shame when you order a brand new part and have to modify it to keep it from rusting.... I love Roush parts and was gonna order these as well but that just sounds like **** poor quality to me

This was my first reaction when i first got mine lol. But yes drill a small hole towards the back of the muffler (side where the over the axle pipe goes into the muffler). Mine and many others have rusted at the welds and cracked

If by chance you have an issue Roush will say sorry... you drilled a hole in them so we won't warranty them.... I can see that coming

Exactly. I'm not worried about drilling a hole in mine because Roush quickly replaced the bad ones. I want to take their word for it that they corrected the "problem" and if it should happen again they will just have to replace them again.

OP don't worry about any issues, just enjoy them!!

I hope they did correct the issue so that I can order these and not worry about rust

I have pics and a video of mine rusted and filled with water. I just got my replacements on and I took pics of the old and new side by side. The welds are noticeably thicker on the new ones, but the amount of water that came out of my driver side muffler (didnt have a crack, just rust) was insane.

My only complaint about the replacements, is its a little quieter until they break in =/ lol

Only time will tell on these new ones. Unfortunately I won't be driving mine for another month or so.
