Never, if it ain't broke don't fix it. Run a 3.73 car and see how it goes. I bet you'll take the W. Sounds like your car likes the 3.31s. Don't change it

I don't have a 2011 with 3.73's to run but I know that traction with my 295 nittos are already break loose if you don't know what your doing so I don't really want to sacrifice anymore traction. I'm gonna roll 3.31's.

Jinkeys! Very nice!

I haven't been back to the 1/4 mi. since I still have just the stock tires, but hopefully those will be upgraded this year.

I prefer road-course track days, though. 20 min's of fun and excitement at a time beats 13 seconds!

Go to the drags on the stock tires.

That's what I like to do.
Too many people stick slicks or even drag radials on, go to the strip and run say 11.9 and say, "I have a 11 second car as a daily driver."
But they don't daily drive with slicks on, so that statement is false.
Run it with your daily driven tires on, get what you get, then you can say what your car runs as a "daily driver"

I also dislike when people say, "I got a 12.5 stock"
Then ask, on stock tires, and they say, "no on slicks or drag radials".
Well slicks or drag radials no longer makes it "stock"
Stock does not just refer to the engine.

So hit up the strip, see what you can run on stock tires.

Im holding off on performance mods until i can hit 12s on my stock 2012 gt m6. personal best of 13.2 so far. only mods are GT-500 axle backs and JLT oil separator. thinking of putting boss quad exhausts. it shouldnt have any significant performance gains right? i just need it to sound a little meaner.

My philosophy on it is theres no point of modding it if i cant drive properly. and saving money is nice too. still sucks to lose to late model camaros and challengers on the track though.

Mirad,
if you have not done so, remove the reosnators. I had mine removed, straight pipe welded in, HUGE difference. (also have M6/3:31) The car sounds downright sinister now.

So glad to see some folks digging the 3:31 set. When I first got my car, I thpought about dumping them.....no more. They are in fact, perfect for me. I can tool through parking garages in first, and get a decent hard launch, all while getting 21mpg, combined city/hwy. The car still pulls like a freight train, and from what I have heard, I can trap in 4th....a BIG plus.

3:31's RAWK!!!

Yes, I do. I will be out there with it and my 408/nitrous Fox coupe this winter quite a bit. I race at SCR as well, but I prefer NPR.

I went 11.79 with this car at NPR in May, in terrible DA. Hoping to crack below 11.5 this winter and will probably spray it into the 10s as well.

I got a 12.75 @ 113 on stock tires (Brembo package) and a tune. I run the same configuration every day on the street, so I can say I have a 12.75 DD! lol

My 5.0 has a radial, I DD it for a little on it and outside of the "tracking" or "swaying" you can drive on a radial...

So I have a 11 second DD...

Not following you on this. You can drive all day long on drag radials. I've been driving on Nitto's drags for 5 months now as a DD. Through pouring rain and even a dusting of snow. I'm switching them off this weekend because we measure snow in feet during winter where I live. But in a warmer client I'd see no reason to ever switch them off.

No offense but that's an accident waiting to happen - especially in the rain.

Go on the Nitto site and see how they rate their drag radials for wet performance. Plus you're driving on mismatched tires front and rear - I assume you don't have drag radials on the front.

The Nitto's are absolutely fine in the rain. I've never once had even a hint of them losing traction. I have the NT555's all the way around my car. So there is no mismatch on the tires.

And yes, they are actually rated very well for wet performance.

I'm assuming you've never really driven with a very streetable drag radial like these? These aren't slicks. It's a myth that all drag radials are dangerous.
