How I Improved a 2014.5 Track Pack GT for about $1000
GT500 Axle Back Mufflers $320 shipped, diy install
Ford Racing TracKey $330 shipped, + $100 dealer install
Oil separator $110 shipped, diy install
Route 66 55D Rear Springs $150 shipped, diy install
Energy Suspension shift bushing (black or red) $20 shipped, diy install
Total to Date: $1030
I always go nuts with mods. I have done it plenty of times before.
The simple low budget mods I have made to my 14’ GT make me smile.
It is such a good car to start with (Track Pack and Recaros) I thought I would
try a measured approach with this one and I am glad I did.
This winter I am planing to add a Magnacharger only because I need some forced induction help living @ 7600 feet ASL.
Other than a blower and maybe some further work on the shifter; I think I will be done.

I have been to Bondurant many times. Bondurant is where I go when I need a quick vacation.
There are a number of good road racing schools here in Colorado. Check out FAASST. They do classes at High Plains and Pueblo. Top notch.

Bill, how did the 55D springs work out on the rear? Do you have a picture of the stance of the car? Sounds like a good level headed approach to mods!
Cheers!
And hell yes to driver mods

After adding more power you may want to look into a set of lower and upper control arms. Also the brackets that go with it. That will help get the power to the ground.
Did you check the rear end to make sure it is still centered after the spring install?

For ease of install, mild boost, customer support, and optional powertrain warranty I think I am going with a Magnacharger.

Great list of mods. But can you tell I'm biased towards your "big" mod?
The reasons you listed above, that I highlighted in bold/red, are precisely the reasons why I went with Magnuson. They woo'd me in with their customer service and tech department. I know their staff very well, including their lead CS person, along with their lead tech engineer, and also the tune writer. I also in fact, also know their top dealer/installer quite well. You could say, I did extensive research on which blower to get before getting it. I'm sure you did the same. I'm very pleased with my set up. Could I use more power? Sure... but not at the expense of reliability and street drive-ability.
I'm eager to hear/see your Maggie install/etc.
Might I make a suggestion regarding your shifter though? I know you have the Energy Bushing, and I'm sure it's made a stark improvement over stock. But I tell you what, I highly recommend the MGW. I don't have to go in to the "why's", as the accolades for it run rampant across not only this forum, but others. So anyways, I just thought I'd recommend that to you to further enhance your driving enjoyment. It's the perfect pairing for the Maggie

I didn't add the cost of driver mods as those have been accumulated over years and cost easily half as much as the GT.

As far as the shifter I may try the Blowfish bracket first once a few more reviews are out and then maybe add an MGW.
Other than the Maggie I really want to restrain myself with this car.
The point of diminishing returns with mods is so easy to hit and exceed.
This is my first non-IRS car in a long time so I knew what I was getting into and actually wanted the less refined rawness and big torque.
I find it a challenge to manage the GT well and thoroughly enjoy it. Believe me or not, my 2012 STi was too easy.

I will add a picture. Visually the front and rear fender to tire gaps are now equal while leaving a little rake.

I forgot to check the rear offset before and after. I will do it today.
I mentioned in another thread that your Maggie experience is what pushed me.

track key install
Greetings fellow Colorado resident!
I'm purchasing the track key this week as well (from Tasca) and wondering who you had do the install? I'm looking at Phil Long who quoted $140. Anyone else from Colorado chime in too with who you'd trust to do the install.

I had mine done at Groove Ford. They have at least one Tech who knows what he is doing. Ask for Service Advisor Eddie. He knows what a TracKey is. No other Dealer I called had a clue. I let Eddie drive my car after the install. His reaction was priceless.

The TracKey is just like most anything else you purchase. Merchant "A" sells a product at MSRP Merchant "B" sells the same product at a lower profit margin and hopefully makes up for or exceeds total profits in higher sales volumes.
