I've also been wondering why Ford just doesn't do this from the factory.

 

To keep the base prices down perhaps. There are many aftermarket pieces we could agree to that should be "on the car" when built, but if Ford did this, the price would increase. For me, I don't mind the additional few seconds to lift and support the hood with the existing hood bar. I'll spend the $90.00 on other stuff more important to me.
