a supercharger will cause less vibration on the oil pump gear which is driven by the crank? I can't even begin to make sense of that... Maybe I should have thrown my dampener away since I put a Whipple on.

IMHO if you are going to put a blower on a stock Coyote block - do the OPG's and sprocket... because it's insurance. It's know to be one of the things that if you hit a limiter (rev or belt tensioner) is at the top of the list to be a potential issue.
The way I looked at it was the blower itself is **** near the cost of a new engine... so the added "cost" of pulling the front timing cover (which you have to take about 1/2 the crap off it for the blower install anyhow) was worth my time to put in some insurance (band aid or not) - for a fraction of the projects total cost.
I don't race, drag, beat on the car... but - the mental state and comfort that little bit of insurance gives me for how I drive the car made the $500 (and I'm expecting about 8 hours of effort) extra in the project a no brainer for me.
OPGs, sprocket and Whipple 2.9 starts in 2 weeks!
