HELP NEEDED Spoiler Issues

Recently I bought the GT/CS spoiler for my car. I currently have the stock spoiler installed. I bought my car used at 9k miles and I was told at the dealership the car was SLIGHTLY crashed during a test drive with MINOR bumper repairs. I have noticed there are a lot of scratches under the current spoiler so I was going to take it off to examine it then I saw a big sealed up hole next to one of the spoiler bolts. I don't think this is supposed to be there at all and the dealership lied to me about the severity of the incident. So please help me determine what this is. Thanks guys

I think that's the hole for wiring for the camera.

There is one big hole that is taped over for sure. I just can't tell if that's it for sure from your picture.

That hole is on all of them. No worries. You'll notice that some spoilers like The GT 500, even have a foam tape gasket to cover it. That hole is there to run wires and such.

P.s looks like you started picking and peeling at the foam gasket...or you have a squirrel in your trunk. Either way, not good.

And don't worry, the California Special Spoiler does cover it up

Thank you guys so much. I've had so many concerns about the rear of my car and was about to flip out when I found that. And plus the gasket was like that when I first discovered it is that going to be a problem?

It will be fine as long as it's not picked at. Remember, That gasket acts as a seal between the spoiler and decklid. If you do change the spoiler, make sure the one you get has that gasket. Most will.
