Read this article in 5.0 Magazine

It's long but super informative and very in depth. With tells all of the strong points and weak points of every internal component.

Remember when Ford used Forged pistons and forged solid steel rods in their performance motors?

uhhhhhhh, have you not seen that multiple cars have gone low 11's and others in the 10's on the stock bottom end? Most everyone is raising the Limiters to over 7k and running low 12's with minimal mods....? Although nobody has installed a Blower, it seems to be handling everything thrown at it.

rumors are that the 656rwhp 9 second car blew its motor. i would expect its limits to be higher than a previous modulars but not invincible. i see no reason it wont survive 100rwhp more than a 3 valve. but thats just speculation. 500-600rwhp. pistons being the weak link.

The rods are designed for higher rpm. Bumping the limiters 500 rpm to 7350/7500 rpm will likely be fine. As a matter of fact at least one tuner is testing at 7600/7750 rpm. The lead engineer at the intro said the stock bottom end was good for 8,000 rpm but didnt say anything about the valve springs.

That said I would be hesitant to push over 7.0 psi with stock 11.0:1 Pistons and Rods. Thats been the limit most of the blower manufactures have been observing. 150-175 rwhp over stock seems to be about where they are at.
