GT500 Mufflers: Pissed Off Lion

Just installed these - I've read that these are slightly louder than stock, but let me tell you it's 25% louder - and the tone! Gurgling, burbling, sweet and angry crackles; this car sounds like a pissed off lion. I am totally happy as it is now, but am curious how these will sound once broken in.

Like everyone else has reported, this is exactly how this car should sound. Finally sound out back that plays nice with the motor's own symphony. Totally satisfied!

If you think that's good, I hope you never hear how borla s types sound lol.

Oh, yes I had gt500s for a year and thought the world of them too... At that time

The ones on my GT500 seemed to get quite a bit louder when they got a few thousand miles on them. Seem to burble and crackle more too on deceleration.

HAha ... me too.

Getting rid of the resonators is the next exhaust-related mod that I'm gonna do, and it's already scheduled with my usual shop.
Same time as the new 1-piece driveshaft gets installed

Amen.... FYI, I just have axlebacks, and last night, I just bought the remaining borla pieces (over axle and x pipe) to complete the full catback system.

I can't wait to get them next week.

Curious about the resonator delete now. I have been driving around with these all day. So strange that people now look when they hear the car. Thumbs up and smiles. Some scowls from some of my older neighbors lol. I'm convinced these mufflers sound like they are twice as loud as the stock ones. What a great sound at all RPMs.

I swapped out my stock with gt500's at the same time I got the boss H pipe. I personally love the combo of the two, wish I had heard the gt500's without the boss H pipe to compare... oh well ...

You will get accustomed to the volume and will want to cut out the resonators. Then you'll get used to that sound too and will want something louder.

Anyone have pics of this install? I assume you guys are talking about the 13' gt500 axlebacks w/rear valance? Considering this setup as well. I'm not looking for much of a change of exhaust sound or volume. And with the boss side exhausts fully opened probably wouldn't hear much anyway. I just love the way the new gt500's axlebacks look

We're talking about the 11-12' GT 500 axle backs, wish I had the 13's quads!

That was probably a sale or something , that's their everyday price.
