gt500 axel back relative loudness

now that i have had the frrp gt500 axel backs on for 36hrs, (the $300 ones) where do these fall in the loudness range of other axel backs? say the range is 1-4 with 4 being the factory gt.

They are a 2. Others are a 3 and muffler deletes are a 1.

if stock is a 1 and open headers are a 10.

They're a 3.
borla S-types would qualify as a 5.5.
Roush as a 7.5
Muffler delete 8.5
Cat/muffler delete w/ no mufflers 10.

If you remove resonators add .75
if you remove cats add 1.25

I had that same thought the first time I started mine up inside my closed garage, with the car windows down. But I now feel they're perfect, and I wouldn't change a thing.

These days, when I start it up in my garage, it just gives me a slight adrenaline boost and a quickening of the heart rate. That's how I know that I'm ready to drive.

GT500 are the quietest ABs bar the ones ford put on factory. However, they sound good, which is way better than loud any day. You can always make a quiet exhaust louder but, it's hell to go the other way.

I like them a lot. I could personally handle them being a bit louder but the tonal quality is all important to me, that's why I bought them. I won't risk losing that tonal quality with ill-conceived exhaust mods.

If you want a little more volume out of your GT500's just do a resonator delete and it will turn the volume up just enough for you, for a while, the next step would be an off-road X pipe , that will make it even louder, plus give a little more performance.

Diva summed it up perfectly on a good scale rating.
I have the GT500s on my 3.7L they are perfect. And like the Doc said, if you need more tone, do a resonator delete. This is the sound under load on the highway in the cabin windows up - 2013 3.7L

Gt500 are great. I say though if you want to hear more but not be obnoxious, add the boss quad H pipe and leave the stock discs in. Just makes it sound like you are next to a high curb.

Won't a better H-pipe give it more of that deep rumble and make them a little louder. (Not a fan of the raspiness from an X-pipe).

If you have a 2011-2013 with any aftermarket exhaust, you are going to have a "raspy sound". I like to believe my system is the most tame around, when I want it to be.
You can give up some performance, for the Hpipe, but it doesn't get much deeper. IMO it "pfff pfff pfff" more.
I like the race car sound. Thumbs up!

I saw an almost identical SGM the other day on the highway and it was cruising loud @ 80. Not extremely loud, but loud enough to where I could hear it over my muffs. They looked like GT500s but could have been frppSports.
I wasn't sure if I liked it or not, he could have had his res deleted. This is my only concern about it, drone on the highway. I can almost completely quiet my exhaust @ 70mph. Or maybe it's just quiet in the cabin? And everyone can hear it like I heard his from behind.
Time for a new video.

I have no drone and I have boss H with plates out, no resonators, and GT 500's.

Had no drone before the boss H as well.

5.0 will be different from 3.7 when trying to figure if you will have drone or not when doing resonator delete. Our exhaust setup is different.
