Got me a CAI + Tune

Thought I'd post some pictures of a quick install... I ordered a C&L CAI + SCT SF3 from American Muscle. Shipped in 1 day. Install took less than an hour and instructions from C&L were clear as day. Gonna get the car dyno'd soon to see what type of numbers the 5.0 puts down.

I'm running the Bama 93 octane race tune right now and I'm liking the improved motor response. Intake sounds awesome. Power is nice - feels smooth all the way up to redline; just don't expect a "omi god what a huge difference" from this setup. It's just an intake

For those waiting to pull the trigger on a CAI + Tune, IMO this setup is an easy first mod and worth the money. Thanks AM/Bama

If you didn't get an OMG response, something's not 100%.

Guess I expected a bit more from the butt dyno; don't get me wrong, the car is much better at every RPM. Gonna get it dyno'd this weekend and I'll post the charts.

Wink

Installed my Jon Lund tune and the car was transformed into a beast. No CAI just the tune.

Got her dyno'd today - car made 391 WHP / 382 WTQ; looks like the Bama 93 Race Tune is rich and nice and safe. Chart is below

"Any time that you make additional mods to your vehicle, our team of SCT certified Bama Custom Tuners will create new tunes for you. Just send us a list of the part or parts you've added and we'll email the tune files to you"

Chris - may you please clarify: do I have to purchase future mods through AM to be eligible to receive new tunes from Bama? Or can I purchase anywhere? I purchased the SCT from AM and I am enrolled in the free tunes for life program. Just want to make sure here. Thanks

No, we updated the files for you regardless where you purchase the modifications. That would be an unfair practice to force you to purchase through us.

Although, we do price-match, so we would hope that you would come to us for the modifications that you had in mind. We ship free and same-day on nearly every item we sell and have 165,000 sq. ft. of Mustang parts ready to rock!

The new 2011's always run in closed loop. They don't go open loop. That means that at wide-open-throttle, if we command 12.5, even if the tune is far off enough to get 13.2, it's going to correct the air fuel ratio based on the wideband o2 sensor reading. With that being said, for his results to be correct, our tune file would have to be WAY off. More than likely, his tune information was not entered correctly and he didn't call Bama to get it straightened away. He said it smelled bad at an idle. I would have called and let them make sure the tune information was submitted correctly and that the tunes were written properly right away. He decides to dyno it, instead.
