Correct. So don't drive the autobahn then. Take the surface streets at 55 and leave the fun driving to the irresponsible.

If people don't pay you to do it, you're not a professional.

'12 GT Vert 6MT 3.31's I can't imagine why you would want 3.73s. 1st is already too short. And 6th still has plenty of go if you push the pedal when cruising on the freeway. Drop a gear or two and your quickly over 100. dunno.

Absolutely no regrets. Lost a little mpg with the FRPP download and 3.73's, but hey, it's a performance car that can still hit 25 mpg when driven carefully. I'd never go back to 3.31's.

The Autobahn is fun but you have not driven until you have survived driving in Naples Italy. No rules are followed, no speed limit followed. Its do whatever you want to get from point A to point B. 5-7 wide on 3 lanes, drafting ambulances speeding over 100...people backing up on the highway because they missed an exit, horse walking on the highway, entire family on a moped holding a mattress, hookers sitting on a couch on side of highway flashing cars. Ive seen it all.

Yeah its actually fun once you give in and realize your car will not survive the 3 years you will be there. I had a 95 Grand Prix that was new when I went there. When I got back I got 50 dollars for it on a trade in for my Mustang. It had been wrecked in the front 2x, once in the rear quarter. Missing body panels, they don't sell much Pontiac stuff in Italy. One of the cylinders was blown. Went through tons of brake pads and tires.

You have to just say F it and drive like a demo derby...then it becomes fun.

We had a Govt Suburban camo painted. That was fun to tear around the streets in.

Not my vid but good example of life driving in Naples.

As for MPGs I've gotten as high at 25.5 doing ~75mph
I completely agree with this statement. I was finding myself having to upshift to the next gear with a couple hundred yards to go on some short straights. That being the case, I am going down to 3.55 gears as I type this.

I was in Sorrento a year ago. Very nice place and not too many tourists.
Going through Naples and on the windy road to Sorrento , I could have crapped a 10 ct diamond.

Yeah the Amalfi coast is nice...Sorrento is really nice place to visit. The drive down there, with all the twisty narrow roads and insane Italian drivers is something else. I swear an Italian would refuse a brand new Ferrari for free if the horn didn't work.

I have been checking out routes for a while now trying to decide which of the many twisty roads to take.
