Going from 331 to 373 gears

My last Mustang 08 GTCS had 3.55 current has 3.31. I have been thinking about going to 3.73. For those that swapped from 3.31 to 3.73 any regrets? I feel like first is a lot more usable than my old 3.55 was.

My last Mustang was a '12 GT with the 3.31s. Comparing the first gear to my current '12 Boss with 3.73s... eh, besides feedback and quicker launching, I don't really notice the difference in how long I'm staying in it.
I feel like in both I could start in 2nd or 1st just as easy. I did notice a decrease in mileage though, obviously. I max at 22-23 hwy now instead of 26-27.

My car came with 3.73's and they are great.

As far as fuel economy, I am able to match the sticker rating of 26 if I can stand to keep it under 70.

If you're planning to supercharge then I'd stick with 3:31 or max 3:55.

Yea id say if youre staying all motor then 3.73 would be great all around. If you plan on goin forced induction at some point then 3.55 would be better and still gfeat daily driveability

Wow! 26 still? I've only taken the new mustang on two all hwy trips a total of 14 hours-ish. I'm taking it on another one next month so hopefully I can get up that high. I usually stick to 70... even in a 75 with little to no traffic. lol

In case anyone says something. I understand it is a muscle car but getting as high mileage as possible is also nice.

My '14 TP came with 3.73s. I LOVE them on the street, but when I hit road courses on the weekend I wish it came with 3.55s instead. Current gearing makes 3rd and 4th a bit short for my liking. If you're not planning on tracking the car you'll be all smiles about the 3.73 though.

As for MPGs I've gotten as high at 25.5 doing ~75mph

I'm pretty sure I won't get that kind of mileage until I leave Germany. I usually cruise at around 120ish in the unrestricted sections. I'm getting 17.8 doing so though so I'm okay with that.

You obviously don't know what your talking about and have never lived or driven in Germany. This is normal driving to go 100-120 on the autobahn. It's the Germany highway.

People can drive safely at speeds of 120 plus. Speed alone does not constitute reckless or negligent driving operations. Under the right road conditions one can safely operate vehicles at high speeds especially since this was the Autobon!
