Make sure your dealer understands that this is not a "cut and weld" job. It is simply loosening two bolts and popping them out of the hangars. Then reversing the process. I say this because when I got the quote from my dealer before my car was delivered, he quoted me about the same 1 1/2 hours. When I told him I was doing it myself, he was surprised and asked me if I was comfortable with welding on the exhaust. I had the axlebacks sitting at home and knew that there was no welding involved. Anyway, it was really easy to do.

dealer told me they charge 160.00 for the complete power kit install -- mufflers and programming.

I paid 50.00 for the exhaust install and 60.00 for the programming with registration so i saved a cool 50.00 by going to the muffler shop.

I did this for my 2011 GT, dealer did the install for FREE! Took them 30 minutes. And, bonus...I sold my OEMs on eBay! I got lucky with the entire deal.

Really? Who would want them?
How much did they go for (if you don't mind)?

I've sold every OEM part that has come off of my 2011 GT (mufflers, air box, owner's manual, front facsia, small rear wing). All on eBay. It really helps offset the cost of the new added mods $. Maybe V-6 owners buy them, maybe repair shops, not really sure. I think I sold my mufflers for $100 + $50 shipping.

Lol you must be the only person in history to sell OEM gt mufflers on eBay. They're best used as boat anchors or lawn mower mufflers.

Make sure you get your resonators cut out and replaced with straight pipe. It'll wake up your gt500s awesomely. No drone. Great , deep sound

Will having the resonators removed effect emission testing?

Maybe for someone who has done it a few times, but definately not a good estimate.

I think that 1 hour is more realistic for someone getting under there for the first time and not knowing all of the tips to make it easier.

No. They're basically in pipe mufflers in the back of your car. It's the flat smashed piece of pipe.

Yep. Did mine in my driveway in about half an hour. It's a lot easier/faster to drop the two brackets rather than trying to wrestle them in and out.
