Full exhaust Q

I am going to get a full exhaust system on my 5.0 no matter how long it takes to save up the money.

So far I am gonna go with Kooks headers w/ O/R H-pipe and Borla s-type.

Sound clip here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jh_IbL0gWuY

Why would I need to go with a Borla catback vs just an axel back if I am going to switch out the Borla x-pipe with a Kooks o/r h-pipe?

Seems like a waste of money to get the Borla CB.

Am I missing something?

The axle back doesn't come with the pipes between the xpipe and the mufflers. The stock ones are a smaller pipe

Ok. Does it make that much of a diff and is there any way to just get those extra pipes?

Best bet is take it to a reputable muffler shop and see if they can make it for you, probably cheaper too.

I was looking at the stock midpipe and it looks pretty good sized to me. I was thinking it was 3" no?

JPC makes over the axle pipes.

Or

You can do an aftermarket catback if you want full 3" from X/H pipe-back

Probably gonna go with a catback. That way it will be a full 3in system. Thanks everyone.

The stock over the axle pipes are 2.75 if I remember correctly. The exhaust I have sounds really good. Quiet at idle, murderous at full throttle. I had a catback with the full 3 inch then went back to stickers with axle backs and I felt no drop in hp at all.

Do you have a clip? Im still undecided. Might pick up a Roush AB to hold me over for a couple years til I can get the full system that I want.
