FRPP 525 vs 624 0-60

Let's assume a manual 5.0 with the Brembo package wheels/tires. Will choosing the FRPP 624hp over the 525 package reduce 0-60 times? I know the extra hp will drop the 1/4 mile but does it help (or hurt) the 0-60 considering traction limitations.

Like you mentioned, its all traction. Both will be quicker to 60 than stock, but on a street tire I bet the two kits are nearly identical to 60.

Some sticky 325/30/19 Pirelli's should fix that little problem nicely.

As far as I know the new 5.0 is already limited on 0-60 because of traction. Increasing power levels will only require the need to regulate throttle even moreso, ie GT500, and you wont get full acceleration unless you have slicks. Everything else will be different levels of good to great, but never that good. So that said, you will get a little faster 0-60 if you launch as is, but if you learn to launch properly, it will be faster.

0 to 60 is not a real world measurement anyway, speed is good, but it's about how fast can u move forward.

Technically speaking the GT "moves forward" in a 0-60 fashion at 4.3 seconds. I'm not sure how it would do going sideways, laterally, horizontally, perpendicular or any other direction, but forward we know.

I suppose 30-60 or 30-90 might be more real world.

But I suppose the point you are getting at is, as a driver, can you put the car in motion better or worse than someone else. 0-60 times are a benchmark, and understanding of what the car is capable of. Physics can overrule many factors that you as a driver want to achieve. Stickier tires would achieve a quicker 0-60 or 60 ft time. This is due to more friction force from the tire and the concrete. Better surface area assists too. Though some have argued that there is a point that is wide enough, anything else isn't doing yourself any favors.

So in response, the target should be on how well the driver can get the car up to speed.
