Ford Racing P Series Spring

Hi guys, I was thinking of installing the P series Ford Racing spring on my 2011 5.0. I have 19" rims on the car currently and drive it daily about 60 miles on an average, any opinion on the comfort and handling?

I know there are more aggressive springs out there, but looking for a bit of comfort.

If a bit of comfort is what you seek why not just stay with what you have?

Well the only reason is to get better handling while keeping most of the comfort.

I have the P springs on my 2012 GT. Ride is alittle stiffer than OEM, but handles great. Puts the car right where I want it as far as being lowered.

Here it is on 20" rims. Tires are 255/35/20

LOVE my P-Springs! They were a great choice for me cause they kept a slight rake!
When I switched to lower profile tires I wanted a bigger drop, but with stock 19's and pirelli's they were Perfect! Ride is enhanced IMHO cause it is less floaty!

Buy the SVE springs from LRS. They ARE the FRPP p springs just sold by SVE. I know this because I have them. It is a one inch drop and the "SVE" springs say ford racing on them

Not the best pic but this is a pic of the SVE springs that I have on my car

I forgot to mention they cost $100 less than the FRPP branded springs

So I checked out Late Model Restoration, they have the SVE spring for 129.99, the description does not mention if they are progressive. The FRPP do mention it and include the dust boot.

I reuse my old dust boots, and like I said it is a FRPP spring so it should also be progressive. In the end it's your money and your car so spend and mod how you please just trying to throw out some helpful money saving tips

I just installed these last night on the car. The ride is slightly stiffer than stock, and it has reduced the bouncy-ness of the rear end. The stock rear shocks feel very over-damped to me on the street. On the track, they feel great. I have yet to hit any twisties or aggressive on-ramps to report on how the handling was affected, but It's got to be a little better...

Is there a need for these springs in the Brembo cars? The Brembos already have stiffer springs, right?

I think so but I'm pretty sure they maintain same ride height as non brembo

Brembo equipped cars have a slightly stiffer spring than the non-Brembo cars. The FRPP springs are stiffer yet and lower the car.

Can you guys with the P-springs please provide some measurements? I'm interested from the center of the hub to the bottom of the fenderwell. Im trying to see if it is worth both the front and the back or just the back to get it closer to level.

Hey Grabberblur5.0, first the car looks great. I live that blue color. Mine is black, I ordered the SVE springs from LRS, with the 4th of July sale they were $110.49 shipped. Will install them over the next few weeks, been busy at work like crazy.

First off thanks!! Secondly, I love these springs, not an overly aggressive drop but looks better than stock and still have near oem ride quality

Like you said grabberblue, the springs have it printed on them FRPP, and Ford Racing. I will not be able to install them soon because it's my wife and son's birthday week. But hopefully the following week I may be able to get to it. Yesterday on the highway this car did 28 MPG, I was kinda proud of it :-)

I had the springs on my 5.0 and thought the drop was perfect for the 19" wheels.
I loved how it made the car handle better as it stayed more flat.
However, it definitely stiffened up the ride a bit and made it kind of jittery over bumps, not smooth like the stock ones.
To get what you are looking for you need to change the shocks too, not just the springs.
Then you can lower the car, get better handling but also have better shocks that will keep the ride more smooth.
