FORD 13-14 New OEM Flash/Tune with Warranty
A couple days back i was in a ford parts dealership.
the manager ask me if i want a ford tune up for my car.
i say a ford tune up? what is that...
he told me that ford have a great flash/tune up for any mustang (2013 and up)
i say, what are the benefit of that flashy kind tune?
Him told me that if i intall that tune my car is going to gain up to 34hp , the gasoline consume is better , and other things that i cant remember..
Also told me ,if i tune my car with them i can i always can go back to my factory settings and is cover with full warranty. The manager recommend me to install the 302 intake.. for better aggressive tuning..
I want to know if any member in here, installed that ford tune in any of their cars? if so, what are the true benefits of that tune? is any good to get that tune? and aftermarket tune is better?
BTW:that tune cost $500 (that include the tune and the pod)....... is that a good price for the factory tune?
Thanks in advance.

Read the fine print. I assume he means the Ford Racing power pack. Basically everything he told you is not true. It definitely is not compatible with Boss intake either.

In the picture that u show me appears 3 different components ..the tune that the dealer sell is different... ( $500 for only the tune and the pod.)....
Him show me the pod... isnt a blue one.....
The pod that him show me was like this color(url below)... maybe is the same 1...

something that i dont undertand.. i see the pod in my hand.. that pod dont say ford or ford racing emblems in no parts...

The are probably talking about the Ford Racing Performance tune for the 2011 - 2013 Mustang GT with a K&N filter. The gains are more like 16 HP using 93 octane. (see link below for the best price you can get on this item).
http://www.buyfordracing.com/product...IR-FILTER.html
Ford Racing will cover the warranty (read the warranty statement below)
http://www.fordracingparts.com/annou...2012_Packs.pdf
BEWARE - A lot of people with this tune (search the web) complain of pinging.

I'm assuming a Ford dealership would not be selling a SCT tuner. The SCT tuner and DiabloSport InTune tuners are available from many different sources along with custom tunes for the Mustang. The issue is warranty retention with these tunes, now that is a totally different debate I won't get into. But to my knowledge the only tuner/tune that Ford (Ford Racing not Ford) will cover the warranty is the one I mentioned before. NOTE - to have Ford Racing cover the warranty the tune must be installed by a authorized Ford dealer (see warranty I linked earlier).

In USA if dealer finds you changed from factory to tune and you blow your engine then warranty is supposed to be void. If dealer is willing to change rules you need to get it in writing.

Literally thousands of mustang owners on this forum are using an SCT device and custom tune. We are all familiar with them. We have just never heard of a dealer selling or recommending them.
