DIY header installation?

I am curious how many people have and difficulty with it. I am mechanically inclined, but have never tackled something like this and I would be doing it in my garage on jack stands. Would it be to much of a hassle to save 400-600 bucks for professional install?

I am just afraid to start into it and realize I have made a grave mistake

I'm not going to BS you, It's a PITA to do yourself. Help will ease the pain. To install mine. I dropped the K member, steering rack and lowered the motor.

Don't know how much of a difference it is from my 06 to your car but I followed the step by step directons that came with mine and wasn't in a hurry. Everything turned out very good I blocked out a whole weekend for the job more than enough time.

I've done/helped with a couple, it's a PITA like others said. If you try it make sure you have plenty of time, at least 10 hours. There's plenty of guides out there, take your time and try to find somebody willing to help out.

I installed the BBK long tubes and off-road X on mine. Took me and another guy eleven hours to complete the install. It was very tedious and quite aggravating at times. Not sure I wouldn't just pay someone to do it if I had to do it over again.

Do it on a day / weekend you feel like you can conquer the world and have no other distractions . Have dependable help. Prepare to get pissed off alot. I would consider paying for a pro install. It's a total b****!

Did mine with a friend and his lift. It is time consuming for sure. We lowered, not dropped, the front sub frame (8 bolts) and lowered, not dropped, the steering rack. You will need to raise and lower the engine throughout the process. The driver's side will take the most time. Passenger side was a breeze with the exception of the front header/manifold nut/bolt. All the header/manifold bolts/nuts can be removed from below except the driver's side front 2 and the passenger side front 1, but remove as many as possible from above. Don't forget to remove the top motor mount nuts first before jacking or raising the car. Have plenty of swivel joints and long extensions.
