color opinions on painting brembo package wheels.

FIRST OFF. i suck at photo shop. real real bad. but it gets the general idea out there.

my brembo wheels look like crap, im going to be repainting them. cant deside between a metallic copper/bronze or race gold. just looking for some opinions.

please dont tell me to paint them black or keep them stock. i have made up my mind that this is going to happen i just cant seem to sink my teeth into one of the 2 colors.

Well if I have to pick from those two colors I would go with the bronze. That might help hide the brake dust a little bit more. IMO

Between the two? I'd say gold.

While I'm not a fan of either one, I'd pick the gold over the bronze. The bronze makes it look like your car has been eating too many Cheetos.

Why don't you like the stock look? I think they're some of the best-looking wheels out there. Just trying to be different?

If I HAD to pick I'd also say the gold. But it'd have to be the RIGHT gold or you might really be disappointed.

Gold or bronze? Might as well just wrap them in tinfoil.

Are you putting any other gold accents on your car or will the wheels be the only thing gold?

BBS race Gold. Not metallic at all. I have yellow fogs and I'm leaning towards a color matched vinil pin stripe like the rtr has but way thinner. Not 100% on that yet. It will have to be pretty subtle to not be gaudy.

The paint on my rims is comming off and looks like crap. Allot of 2011s with Brembo had issues with the paint chipping, peeling and pitting. Ford has ****ed me around on my warranty to replace them for 4 months now. Not gonna deal with it anymore. Just cut my losses and do something about it my self. And yes, since I'm having to paint them I want to do something different. Besides the aftermath rims I want have polished lips and gold centers. So I'm looking at it as a way to prelude to rims I really want.

I'm not liking either one. But again it is your car and if you're happy that's all that matters. It seems that no matter which you go with chipping will be a problem pretty quickly. Have you considered just getting new wheels?

Yes. But I just droped 8gs on a motor. New wheels will have to wait. With a heaver duty enamel and good priming chipping won't be an issue. I am familiar with the paint I ordered. It is much stronger that the factory wheel paint. It has stood up to years of rallycross action on a friend's BMW. It has been running in mud, sand and gravel with no chipping so I believe it will be plenty strong for a street car.

I know you ordered paint already, but if you have further chipping, Id recommend powdercoating.
