CAI Suggestions
The Bama/American Muscle guys have been real high on the new Airaids lately. I bought the Steeda from them and am very pleased with it. I think the looks of the JLT carbon fiber CAI's look awesome. If you take the top 3-5 of them, I don't think any are going to produce significantly more HP than the other. Make sure whichever one you get, you have Bama send you a new tune for it.
I like the OEM look of the Roush. Doesn't require a tune but I would imagine tuners would have custom tunes available to use with it.

I got a question about CAIs. Say I buy a CAI that requires a tune (ie. JLT) but I don't use a tune or I return the tune to stock, what will happen? Does the car throw a code or will I just simply not get the most performance out of my CAI? Just curious because I'm torn between JLT (tune required) and Air Raid (no tune required) but if I bring my car in for service, I will want to return the tune back to stock but still leave the aftermarket CAI installed. Any help on this would be very appreciated.
If you get an intake that requires an aftermarket tune, driving it stock will cause issues. First issue is a check engine light that will most likely accompany trouble codes indicating a lean condition.
Depending on the size of the MAF for whatever CAI you choose the vehicle may possibly not even be driveable as well.

It's a must to tune when installing an aftermarket intake on all 05-11 Mustangs.
Retuning back to stock takes longer then swapping intakes. Get the tune started and you can have the stock intake on before it's done loading.

Do research!!!!!!!!
Look for customers who have made the gains the manufacture claims, not just one, but the majority of several should get the claimed gains.
Most CAI and tune packages will net you 20-30 RWHP. The internet is huge, look for the customer who have got those gains.
Many have not lived up to the claims.
You should see 12-15 RWHP over and above an all ready tuned car and 10-15 from the tune itself resulting in a total of 30 RWHP.
Most 2011 5.0's are base lining in the 360-370 range.
Most tuned cars are ending up in the 370-380 range and most with an intake and tune are eding up around 390-400 RWHP
If you see base line numbers much lower then 350 ask why it may be to show a higher gain or was done on very bad 87 gas and if you see them above 380, that car or dyno is just plain awesome!!
AM did a test of 5 intakes and Airaid was said to make the most low end TQ than the others and about the same hp. I know they are going to release the #'s soon Chris Rose has said.
