6-speed manual, was baselined with a stock tune before the install with roughly 5,000 miles and made 390 RWHP / 384 RWTQ. The only modification was OEM Shelby GT500 mufflers.

With our previous dyno tune loaded, it made 418 RWHP / 400 RWTQ.

After installing the Steeda CAI it made 430 RWHP / 410 RWTQ. A gain of 12 RWHP / 10 RWTQ.
TOTAL GAIN OF TUNE AND CAI= 40hp and 26 ft/lbs of TQ
all pulls were completed in a window of 20 minutes

So, tune and steeda CAI is 40 HP and 26 TQ on your car, not bad...

What would be your #s guess with an auto?. I'm headed for Pompano (Steeda) soon for their CAI and tune (3500 miles).

 

I expect the same HP gain with slightly more TQ peak but tons more inthe mid range do to the TQ limtiing coming out when it tuned.

 

WOW, that is straight up amazing!! Tune, CAI and mufflers and you are at 430RWHP/410RWTQ!!! Awesome!!!

So do we dare start speculating that with these mods, headers and full exhaust system we could see 460RWHP?

 

Good numbers.

I know on 2 separate 2010 GT's after the install of a steeda cai with tune peek gains were +13hp & + 6tq the other was a similar + 13hp & + 12tq. (Tho mid range saw increases up to 25hp)

So to get a 40hp and 26tq in the 2011 is great.

 

the mufflers made 0 HP diff in fact the base line dyno was 1 lower with the GT500 muffler over stock (1 hp can be temp differnces)

 

Yeah, mufflers by themselves won't do much for power.

 

I really hate to be the one to say this, but you didn't base line the car the same day. These numbers are not accurate.
You had asked me how to do a fair test and I explained, you must baseline the car that same day. If not you do not have a good reading.

One thing is for sure, your car puts down awesome numbers! That's the truth!

Call my post what you will, but you must must must baseline the same day, your dyno different everyday.

WE DID BASE LINE 10 MINUTES BEFORE THE CAI PULL

 

It's good enough for comparison sake since it is the same dyno.

3% is very good, and a bit more than I would have expected.

I'm happy to see you re-baselined the car the same day too.

EDIT: Did you cut the RPM limit back to 7200 with the latest tune?

 

Kinda matches the STB though.... I'm going to leave mine O-natural

I went with 7100 on my limiter as my car is a track rat and spends MUCHO time at 5-7100

 

To confirm what Shaun said, we did baseline the car and mod it the same day. We flashed the car back to stock and pulled it. We then installed our custom tune, and pulled it again, then installed the CAI and retuned and pulled again on the same day.

The car was baselined with 56 miles and made 375 RWHP which is what we see from all of the manual trans cars. The next 2,000 miles were spent at 7,000 rpm's on the road course and when put back on the dyno with no mods it made 390 RWHP. This is typical of what we see from GM cars after hard break-in's as well.

People have asked about dyno calibration, but this is a new AWD Dyno-Jet that is 2 months old.

A stock GT500 makes around 440 RWHP on this dyno.

I guess that was the Livernois tune. Wow.

I did the Steeda tune and CAI, and it feels like a completely different car. In all my years of throwing mods at cars, I've never had anything that felt this different.

The best thing was, it took about 45 minutes, going slow, and didn't even get dirty or smelling like gas or grease.

Now Shaun.......how 'bout telling us about that first oil change report?
