Cool! So looking at this just at the numbers... What was your gain? Even with the lower numbers from the other dyno... What did you pick up over your old setup?

Well mustang dynos read lower traditionally thats why I really wanted to get on a dynojet. But if you take my first setup on the dynojet and use the 4th gear pull and use the 4th gear pull on the mustang dyno then I gained about 30 whp and lost about 18wtq. To get the most accurate gains you would have to use the same dyno every time you ran it to get the most accurate readings. I plan on going back to the shop where I originally did my first dyno to get an accurate account of the gains. I shoukd have just waited and got an appointment there instead of rushing it and soon as I saw a different machine I should have not gone through with it , but it will be interesting now to see how the dynojet reads as opposed to the Mustang Dyno with the same exact mods.

The butt dyno feels no loss only gains with these mods. Id give real world tests more merit because a tuner cannot change what your car runs in the 1/4 or 1/8 or road course times what ever it may be. Thats why I made the videos before and after.

Yeah I dig the video before and after... The after video with the BOSS sounds awesome! Reminds me of an old small block winding out! You took it to 7500 in the video, what is the safe range for these 5.0's as far as spring pressures and RPM when it comes to revving that high?

Man I'm anxious for ya to get back on the original dyno myself just to see some comparable numbers!

What many fail to realize is a Mustang Dyno can be unloaded which is the equivalent of a Dyno Jet. And dynos can be manipulated so don't put too much into dyno numbers. The real comparison is at the track.

This is the truth, he explained that too me also and he showed me some tests of other cars he did with similar setups and mine was right on par with them give or take a horsepower or two.He said it would still most likely read lower than a dynojet , I just should have waited longer to get back on the original dyno. I want a 5th gear pull and he could not do that

Well in a stock 5.0 the factory is set at 6800 so I assume thats what Ford deems safe for the car. Shaun redlined my tune with the stock intake at 7500 also but if you look at my original dyno sheet it falls on its face around 6800 and thats probably why ford designed the 5.0 to handle that. The car with the boss mani keeps making power all the way to 7500, most tuners dont wanna bring the cars up that high on the machine the guy yesterday looked nervous as hell doing it in 4th on the dyno. I would say dont live there every once in a while in a drag race is probably ok, if you were gonna track the car or drag race regularly id upgrade it.

Honestly they look like they are more of a chevy place , ill be going back to stang-hi when I put my gears in and thats where I went originally to dyno the car the first time. I should have just waited to get the gears and did it all at once being getting on the dyno and getting the gears installed. They are expensive but I guess you get what you pay for , not taking anything away from thunder racing because I know nothing of the work they do but Stang-HI is a shop more geared towards our cars.

Thanks for all the insight into this mod and your experience at the different shop. This is making me want to go this route more than before. The 3.73 gears will make a difference. I can't see boosting and then having to lower the gears just so I can get traction.

NP, Probably so and if i decide to boost ill always have my 3.31's sitting there ready to go back in if need be. I think this setup with the 3.73's will compliment each other well. It will make for the perfect setup until i decide if im going boost or not , i may do headers but then the Axelback demons will come back and that's the only thing stopping headers from going in,i really like my exhaust setup i have right now .
