Anyone with the MGR shifter for the MT-82?

Hey guys, I was pretty much sold on the Barton shifter and two post bracket but then a few of you mentioned the MGR shifter so I did some research and watched the videos.

Gotta say I'm pretty impressed.

How is it on a daily basis? Does the upper NVH bushing arrangement get soft , or worse does it crack? They say it won't deflect, has it?

This thing looks like the complete package, and it may be added to my list so if you've got one chime in and let me hear what you like pros and cons wise.

Thanks,

James

Question Anyone with the MGR shifter?

Ease of install and driving habits too would help. Did you order direct or through a resale spot?

I've had mine for sometime now (MGW). It seems to get better with time. Shifts are spot on and you hear it engaging every time.

Barton claims 40% throw reduction and MGW claims 30% throw reduction. MGW is the more solid piece, replacing the lower box, and comes with a heat shield - for about the same price as the Barton. I will be ordering a MGW - possibly before my car is delivered.

I will be ordering an MGW. For 75.00 more than the Barton, it's a no brainer on which one to get. The MGW replaces everything. The Barton only replaces the top part and then you have to add the separate bracket.

Mgw for sure. Make sure the adjustment screw is set properly after the install , before you install the boot ( it is not in the instructions).

What adjustment screw are you referring to? I have the MGW shifter with white ball, deluxe jam nut, heat shield, and street/race bracket.

The set screw that bumps up against the reverse lockout when you pull the shifter to the left.
