I would definitely not list it as a necessity as there are a ton of tuned Coyote's running the stock PCV system with no issues!
That being said, I do run a breather setup on my 2014 GT and would highly recommend one or a separator but you don't have to worry about doing it right away!
Hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions.

Have had the Steeda AOS installed for about 4 weeks now. Installed it because I have been getting some oil into the intake while competing in the car.(auto-x) I would say it has helped, captured about a teaspoon worth of oil so far...but it's still letting some get by...maybe 15%

I have the moroso, it's been on for over 10,000 miles, and caught "a lot" of oil.
I took my TB off around 10K miles to look into the intake, there was NO oil residue at all!
The techs at Ford Racing told me about getting one when I called and was asking questions about the ProCal tune. After begging them to recomend a brand seperator, the guy recomended the moroso which is why I originally went with that brand.
But any seperator is better than no seperator.
The oil residue mixed with fuel in your engine Lowers the octane of the fuel, then the engine gets detonation and retards the timming. Which causes you to lose power!
So seperators don't add power they just make sure your getting the most out of your set up!
Ok I'm off my soap box now!😊
