Another 2011 gear selection post

First post ever =P

Anyway I plan on getting a plain Jane 2011 GT, only options are the illuminated door stills and a gear.

Anyway I plan on bolting on a CAI + a full aftermarket exhaust, with a tune. No other mods or drag tire/suspension set ups.

I'm wondering with my bolt ons, with stock tires + wheels, what would be the best gear for drag racing and maybe a few rolling 2nd/3rd gear starts on the Eway.

I'm leaning towards a 3.55 or a 3.73 especially if the tune bumps up the stock rev limit.

Appreciate any suggestions or info for those with experience, thank you =)

Whatever gear, on stock tires, drag racing traction will be marginal.

Thanks, think I'll go with the 3.73. I might get the drag bug(never know) and get some DR radials if I start getting tempted once again =P

Used to own a 1991 GT, that hit high 11's with an upper engine build(Pro M, GT40 intake, TFS heads, mild cam, roller rockers, pulleys, long tube headers with full aftermarket exhaust, and a 4.10 gear on slicks and skinnys) fun days =)

Hoping with a milder set up thats what a 2011 might pull or better with a few mods =p

Thanks all =)

One thing to consider is that with the 3.73's the car is bouncing off of the rev limiter at the end of the quarter. Tuner's are upping the red line though which should alleviate this problem.
