Acceleration mods

I am getting my tax refund check soon, so I'll have about $1200 to spend on my car. I was wondering what the best mods were to increase 0-60 and drag times.

I've looked at CAI, tuners, boss IM, LT headers, and a few suspension mods to help my times. I've already been saving for LT headers, so from the other options, what should I add next?

I have 3.55s. Wasn't thinking the 4.10s would make a huge difference

With the gearing in these 6-speed trannys I don't think changing the rear gears to anything more than 3.73's is a good move. If I go FI down the road I might drop down to 3.31's in the rear.

I will eventually do that once the treads on my current ones wear down

Steeda Cai , Steeda 93 tune, aluminum driveshaft. ....With sticky tires that alone will net 11 sec quarter mile times if you side step the clutch.

I think you have everything covered. The Boss intake is only worth it if you are willing to bring the rpm's up to 7600. Of course a good tune, CAI, LT's and o/r X will get you great results. Just need to get some suspension mods and tires to get everything out of these mods.

If you had a tuner and CAI, I would tell you to look at a torque converter since you have an auto. But since you don't have the tuner and CAI yet, start with those items.

Torque converter example: http://www.jmschip.com/2011-2012-mus...que-converter/

I have seen LT's make only 10rwhp over a o/r pipe. So if they are worth it then its your call but best bang for buck is tuner with o/r pipe right now.

Yeah but they make the car scream, which I like! But, in the hp side of things it isn't worth the price. I'm going to invest in a steeda CAI, BAMA tune with the intune, and probably j&m extreme LCA, UCA, and PH bar. Then I'll look at 4.10 gears, Boss IM, steeda springs, koni struts and gt 500 relo brackets

Don't do 4.10's in the auto unless you want to go slower. All you'll do is spin your tires. You have 4.17's as a first gear. Coupled with 4.10's it will be the equivalent of having 5.61's in the old C4 transmissions. A converter will make a significant difference.

Those numbers went over my head, but thanks for the heads up.

With an auto, I wouldn't do the CAI or manifold. Just get a tune from a reputable tuner, I like VMP of course. We have a tuner/ tune package with them. 3.55 gears I think work just fine, headers are a PITA to install if you're doing them yourself. Start off with O/R mid pipe, tune and some supporting suspension mods. I really like the DSS one piece that we carry, it is really noticeable and its great not having that OEM ds slop these cars are known for.
For Mid-pipes, lethal makes a great stainless pipe for the cost, I really like MRT's H-pipes but come with high flow cats which I personally enjoy if you plan on staying N/A.

Thanks for the tips Jay. I appreciate your input. A lot of people are saying no to the manifold. Not getting that will allow me to put $500+ into something more beneficial. Although I do want to get the CAI for aesthetic reasons. I know it doesn't give a huge boost, but it does make the exhaust louder. At least that is the case in my F150. I think I'm just going to go with LT headers from stainless works (I'll hit you up about that soon Jay) plus the catted x-pipe. Then I will add susp mods with a custom tune and CAI.
