2nd to 3rd wierd shifting on 2013 Auto Trans

I have a 2013 GT that has steeds CAI and 93 tune along with full stainless works exhaust. And I am getting a weird shift from 2nd to 3rd after I got the tune. Just wondering if that is natural or not ? Weird meaning it falls into to gear but fairly quick it's just more jerky than other shifts.

I understood it that he meant Steeda. Doesn't really matter though, if its been tuned, doesn't matter if the transmission is falling apart its on him now, the tune gives Ford the background to wash their hands of it. Even if the MT-82 is a piece of ****.

Tuned by sorry bout that Its tuned by steeda. And no nothing jumps just kind falls in to place. As where all the shifts and shift points are a solid feeling. Oh and sorry one last thing it is supper apparent at WOT.

It's an auto...

I'd say that's normal. My 1-2 shift is firm but not neck snapping but the 2-3 shift kicks right into gear. I'd guess the reason for the softer 1-2 is to prevent wheelspin whereas by the time you reach the 2-3 shift there isn't enough power to turn the tires more then a chirp during the shift.

It's the tune. Mine doesn't do that.

Send an email to Gus@steeda.com and see if a revision can be made to the tune. I don't have much experience with the automatics so I can't give a diagnosis.

Send him a note ... tell him what is taking place ... and he can point you in the right
direction.

Best Regards,

TJ

I have tunes from Gus @ Steeda for both "93 Performance" and "93 Soft-Shift" (for informal road-racing track days). The Performance tune shifts HARD! I've had the car shift from first to second just pulling out of side streets, easy on the gas, and when it hit second the rear end broke loose! The Soft-Shift tune is perfect for me- it shifts firmly, but not as "rude" as the Performance tune. I really do enjoy how it drives with the softer tune on it, and use it full time in warmer weather. I went back to stock for the winter, hard shifts on slippery roads are a bit more "fun" than I want to have!

I have a 2011 GT, auto trans., all stock including the crappy 235-series all-season tires. I do run Blizzak snow tires in the winter, like now.

Sounds good, which tune did they send you? Did they say how it was different from your current tune, or they just "fixed an issue?"

*Not doubting they DID fix something, I'm very happy with my Steeda tune.
