Talking 2011 Mustang GT 5.0 Tuned by Brenspeed!!

My Throttle Response is all fixed now!! Just installed the Brenspeed Tune 93 octane on my 11 GT Automatic Bone Stock 3.15 Gears!! Only have had 10 minutes with the car, 840 miles on the Odometer and WOW!! What a Blast to Drive!! Very noticeable difference from the original stock tune!! Defiantly seat of the pants dyno gives it two thumbs up! This tune is WOW!! Really opens the car up and actually seems to make the car run smoother than the stock tune! I will be posting a thread on all of my impressions and thoughts of the Brenspeed Tuned 11 GT automatic!!

Hey RedCandy, just the tune bone stock auto, stock air box with paper filter, Brenspeed is claiming they picked up over 30RWHP with just a tune, they have let me test their tune, so I can give my thoughts on it! I had their tunes on my 10 GT, but these new tunes for the 11 GT are just crazy, Night and Day difference in the Shift Patterns, and the throttle response the once automatic lag that hindered performance, until you mashed it is gone! Now with just the slight press of the pedal, she roars through the gears!! I actually broke traction through 3rd gear, in 93 degree heat with 100% humidity! The power band is amazing, she pulls all the way up to the 7,000RPM redline and actually if I was reading my Tach right she went up to 7200RPM's!! Pulls like a beast!! Will be posting more thoughts and impressions once I get more time to drive her!!

Mail order or did you actually have it on the dyno?

Are you datalogging with an SCT tuner and sending them the files to edit? I'm new to this whole tuning Mustangs thing, I'm used to LS1s. Unfortunately, no tuners around here so I'm trying to find some info on getting my car tuned without driving across the world.

I'd really like to see some before and after dyno numbers on these tunes posted instead of seat of the pants dyno..hah

The only thing is Brenspeed touts 30rwhp gain yet a guy had his 6spd CS dyno tuned by them and only went from 361 to 381. That is only 20 to me.

Depends on the dyno and whether they are quoting peak HP or average or at some point along the curve. And every car and dyno are different.

Another reason to get a custom dyno tune over a canned tune, it can then be maximised for the car.

I know the feeling. I had an auto with 3.15 gears and I was very pleased with the performance. I had Reinhart Automotive install a Roush CAI, Kooks long tube headers, Kooks cats w/x-pipe, SCT tuner w/dyno tune to set shift points and air/fuel ratio, and just for kicks, a set of 3.73 gears. I am running stock mufflers. This car will smoke the tires in low, and break the tires loose in second, with the traction control turned off. It is wicked fast!!!

The car pulled 359 RWHP in bone stock trim. However, that was in 3rd gear at 6500 rpm at 117 mph. After all of the installs, it pulled 371 RWHP at 7000 and 121mph. The car should have been dyno'ed in 4th gear. Also, the shop said that their numbers are SAE numbers, which are conservative. The 373 gears in an automatic are the equivalent of putting 456 gears in a manual. I have a hard time believing the Brenspeed claim that the auto will smoke the tires in 3rd with just a tune. I would love to race him! I haven't driven my car much since i got it out of the shop, nor have I had any races, but I owned a 2006 c-6 with B&B long tube headers, ram air, maf sensor and predator tune, and it was fast, but I don't think that it would hold a candle to this mustang. Kook's factory rep claims that they have tested mustangs with my setup, but without the gearing and they are 1 second faster in the quarter. I am getting 275's for the rear and a Corsa axle back and my car will be complete. My wife won't ride in this car after I demo'ed the power for her.

Thats great news on the automatic tune.I've been doing quite a bit of research on tunes and dyno's
and I'm finding out a few things.

a lot of people seem to dismiss canned tunes but I'm finding out that a dyno operator could manipulate things or just plain not know what they are doing and affect the numbers you see with a dyno tune.

also you have people who do a dyno tune but then datalog and send to the shop to have the tune modified. To me that is also a canned tune unless you actually take your car back to the same dyno to have it done.

Why are shops dynoing these cars in 3rd and 4th gear and not 5th 1:1 I'm talking manual cars?

while I'm not returning my car to stock for a baseline,I plan to dyno it with the canned Steeda tune and then with a custom tune and see the difference.

I don't recal saying that I believed him, but I wouldn't be surprised if my car will turn in the high 11's, with its current setup. With proper tires, it could go lower. This car is properly tuned and is really fast. It should be because all of that ---- costs $4M in parts and labor. If you can afford that, you will know what I mean. I plan on taking it to Gainesville Raceway to find the truth. Dyno readings are unreliable. The dyno in a shop across the street from where I had mine worked on claimed 405 RWHP on a bone stock 6 speed manual!!! Rinehart Automotive, in Jacksonville, did the work on mine. Pull them up on the web and ask Dennis Rinehart about my car, he is a Ford and Mustang specialist and my 2011 was the first that he modded.
