They are louder than stock. But they aren't jaw-dropping loud. This is a video I found that actually compares the sound. Of course these are just changing the axlebacks.

This is my video which has the same axlebacks but I also have the over-the-axle pipes from the GT500 which has no resonators.

There are also lots of other threads in the 2010-2014 Mustang modifications section with other sound clips of exhaust systems. The GT500's are by no means loud, so if loud is what you want you won't be happy with them. The Roush axlebacks are slightly louder and about $200 more but you can catch them on sale. Borla, Flowmaster, Corsa, and many other manufacturers make lots of different setups with different volumes. Really it boils down to how loud you want it, and the tone you want. Youtube has hundreds of videos. Just search for 2011 mustang exhaust and you will find all the videos you can stand to watch. Take note to where they are filming the video as well, like in the garage, or in an alley as that will change the way the exhaust sounds on the video. The best videos are filmed out in the open. Also the proximity of the camera as well as angle to the rear of the car will change the sound.

Thanks for the replies. What mods. need to be made? Will I have to get '11 or '12 gt500 mufflers to bolt straight up? I thought the mufflers changed with the body style.
Thanks again,
Michael

You can order the correct gt 500 axle backs from American Muscle. Pm AMChris Young and I think you can get a special price as a forum member and they have free shipping.
