I don't see how.
You need DOHC so you can separately control the intake cam from the exhaust cam.
While VCT in the SOHC does help performance at various rpm's, the valve timing overlap is fixed because both the intake lobes and exhaust lobes are on one cam.

I'd rather have a real cam switch out but the option of changing the sound with just a tune would have been easy, and if I didn't like it real easy to change
