MGW Shifter. Kind of notchy?
Anyone else think their MGW short shifter is somewhat notchy? I have it set on 5 turns and it isn't very smooth.. I have to use a good amount of force to get it into gear. My stock shifter was smooth and incredibly easy to shift. The MGW is a lot harder... Anyone else have this or know how to fix it?

Our shifter is not notchy. the trans is. the shorter you set the throw the notchier it will feel. thats why our shifter is adjustable because nobody has the exact same preference.
Try turning it all the way in for a mild 15 percent reduction in throw. it will feel smoother and also easier to shift.
also it will break in in about 500 miles and feel easier and smoother.

If it is anything like mine, it will get better. First few hundred miles were a little harsher than the stock shifter. After that (i have about 1,200 miles on my MGW so far) it has gotten lots better.
Not sure if the shifter for the '10 v6 is the same, but if 1st and second are bothering you make sure you have it adjusted right. It took some fine tuning of that side bolt to get them to engage correctly.

Just looked and it is not the same... ignore what i said about 1st and 2nd.
