Ford Racing Strut Tower Brace
Hello,
Just bought the Ford racing strut tower brace for 2010 gt, and was wanting to know if anyone has installed this and what it in entails ? How will it change the ride of the car. I bought it to really dress up the engine.

I don't have THAT particular brace, but I just installed the BMR tubular brace on my 2006.
Honestly, it's perhaps the easiest install I've ever done. I told my wife I'd be back inside in 10 minutes. She didn't believe me. I walked in 8 minutes later.
Just remove the two inner strut bolts...I think they were 10mm, put the brace on with whatever washers they included, then put the bolts back on. I used some blue locktite on mine, just for ****zngiggles, then torqued them to the BMR specified 25 lb/ft. The FRPP install instructions say to use the same torque rating.
Here's are the instructions, if you don't have them: Linkie...
As for what it'll do for the car? Not as much as I expected. The front end is definitely stiffer, but I only really feel it when cornering hard or when entering my driveway at an angle (the apron is steep). You can tell that the front end isn't flexing nearly as much.

I have also read where sometimes the holes in the brace don't line up perfectly with the car resting on its tires. Some have had to jack up the center of the car to relieve stress so the holes line up. Tighten them up and let the car down and you're good to go.

Does anyone know which strut tower braces will clear with the engine cover on? (this is on a 2010 GT with the stock "power dome" hood so hood clearance should not be an issue)
I know Ford did sell one that clears, wondering if any of the aftermarked ones will clear also

Works on at least one Mustang
I have the factory strut brace on both my little old 2010 GT and on my monster 2011. Can't honestly say how it works on the '10 (my legs are too long to get into the cockpit to drive) but it really does make a difference in steering stability especially on bumpy roads -- or if you get "big air,"
