Cams, Intake, etc...

Has anyone thought of or have purchased/installed this kit?

Any thoughts of how this would effect things if you decided to supercharge later?

While this is a cool kit for someone who insists on staying N/A, keep in mind that this $3700 package gets you just over 400 flywheel hp.

That same $3700 would get you a Vortech V3 supercharger kit that would make closer to 450-500 flywheel hp with a lot of easy potential to crank it up even higher.

From what i can see on the vortec website that is a tuner kit, so basically just the charger, not installed or any kind of tune. While the install im sure can be accomplished in a weekend, im new to the amarillo area and not sure of any good tuners near by. I was baically looking at this as a stepping stone, you can have it installed at a ford dealer prior to delivery, and the fact that im not going to have alot of down time available for me to do this myself .

I was really curious how this would affect me a couple years down the road when i wanted to FI. I love cars, but i am not a complete gearhead, yet....

i am dissapointed they dont offer a tune for it you figure if they are trying to represent a "factory type" NA upgrade option they would have a "factory" tune to go with it. I dont really want a supercharger on my car and would be interested this kit but i dont really want to do the tuning part of it. I would much rather it be plug and play like the roush supercharger kit where they flash the cpu for you. install parts, computer, start car.

or would i be able to send some one a list of the parts and have them make the appropriate adjustments

You know how it sounds right?

For me the 'chug-a-chug' sound would be kinda annoying after a while... but that's just me.

I didn't think I'd like the sound of that lumpy idle, but it's lovely.

Looks like a great kit, but I think you could piece together something from Brenspeed for hundreds less and get a similar result.

If you shop around you can source all those parts seperately for considerably less. Plus you don't need the valve covers. And that intake will lose bottom end torque so it won't be the hot street setup.

Now, if you supercharge or turbocharge it later, then the intake won't lose that bottom end and will make lots more top end.
