It's got great wheels on it already, nothing needed there.

A little drop would be fine, no more than 1" though.

I do like the PP wheels, but IMO they aren't aggressive enough for the Roush kit as is. I'd throw some 0.5" spacers in front and 0.75" in back with the drop and it would look ****!

I have the spacers already and a set of GT Brembo take-off wheels I will be putting on in the spring. Still up in the air on the suspension and how I want to take it. If I go with coilovers I'll be getting the AST 4100's. If not I'm probably going to piece together a set of Koni yellows and Steeda sports.

Those Performance package wheels are lighter than the brembo wheel. They were chosen for the PP package because they were the lightest wheels they had in a 19".

Heck, if you replace those then you might as well not bought the Performance Package.

Hey what can I say, I'm the type of person who is interested in both show and go.

I love the look of the Brembo package wheels and don't care for the PP wheels much. I also spent $3K while adding about 30lbs in plastic with with all the Roush trim pieces will no purpose other than to please my own eye. I have an end goal of what I hope to achieve with my Mustang. Rest assured it will be noticeably quicker in every performance category including handling. I knew how beastly the Brembo package wheels were when I bought them. The weight caused a moment of pause but in the end the looks and $700 price of the set won out over the difference in weight.

Regarding the reason Ford chose those vs others I think it's all speculation to be honest. If Ford chose these PP package wheels for the V6, the next guy might wonder why they choose the Brembo package wheels for the Track Package. Or better yet, why didn't they just go with an 18" wheel on both packages.

There is another thread out on one of the forums that is discussing the 5lb. difference in each corner and how it would impact a 40 second road course. An SCCA article estimated lap time differences of .10-.20 seconds. 1/4 mile much less, .05 seconds. I will never be racing to win a competition so those times literally make me shrug my shoulders. If you're racing for a spot on the podium then both the Brembo and PP wheels are probably a bad choice.

No speculation. A Ford engineer said this on video when talking about the Performance Package. The video is one of the forums here somewhere. However I do agree that for us that don't race is not a big deal. I love the PP wheels and is one of the first complements I get when people see my car. However sometimes I think about changing them with deep dish wheels and/or adding spacers although not sure how safe they are.

By the way I love what you've done to your car.

Thanks for the compliment. Yeah I've not seen the video but again there would be the next person arguing why they didn't go with an 18" wheel if weight of the wheel was the primary concern. My guess would be they were attempting to balance both looks and performance. In this case, mine specifically, the PP wheels aren't my cup of tea and the 5 lbs won't crush my dreams of becoming the next SCCA national champion.
