Watchdevil's "New" 2010 Mustang

Okay folks in a few days I will be taking delivery of my next Mustang. It's a pre-owned 2010 with 12,000 miles on it that is in like new condition. Of course it is Performance White but this time I will have the Saddle and Charcoal interior plus Sych. I am really excited about having the updated interior. The interior is loaded with auto dim mirror, compass and temp display and My Color + ambient lighting.

I'm already planning a few mods but there will not be any interior mods. First thing to go is the ugly factory rocker stripe. I may choose something better looking to take it's place. I may also install some side scoops and a more substantial looking rear wing. Next thing is I want the 05-09 factory style hood scoop in black because I loved it on my 08 car because has a shaker look without the shaker price.

The tail lamps are not my favorite but I think they will look much better with some black tail lamp surround trim and the back up lamps tinted along with a blackout panel for the decklid. I'm pretty sure I will NOT be coughing up $2000 for 2013 tail lamps though I do like them. My existing pony center spinner caps will be installed if they will clear the face of the rims.

Since I will now have a two car garage with a garage door opener, I will also install a Homelink garage door opener switch in the visor or wherever it will fit best.

Real pics of my actual car coming soon...

Plain or maybe with a Boss style reverse C-stripe revisited...

Here it is waiting for me. The salesman parked it behind the bodyshop in the fenced in area so no one will mess with it until I take delivery in a few days...

It was very sudden and unexpected for me to sell my 08 Mustang. I would have kept it but I had very important reasons to sell it ASAP. I didn't sell it because I wanted a 2010 or newer model. I planned to keep my 08 for a very long time. However I needed to make a very temporary sacrifice. I knew I could get another Mustang if I wanted it. I decided to move towards the updated look of the 2010 model which I 90% like and save a lot of money not buying a 2012 or 2013 model.

There is so much I like about the 2010 that I am tolerating the less than perfect rear end design. I do not like it the way it is stock but the decklid blackout panel and a set of black taillamp trim is going to make it look much better.

Thanks! But I have to do a couple of things... That's just my nature. Luckily there is nothing I want to modify in the interior since it is close enough to perfection.

I always disliked the style rocker stripe that they put on the 2010 model, so it will be the first thing to go. I hate how the white space around the MUSTANG letters was executed. I will be contemplating replacing it with a different style stripe but I don't know what I want yet. I am still very fond of the reverse C-stripes but part of me wants to do something different for this car.

I recently put a black 07-09 GT/CS OE style hoodscoop on my 08 and I loved it, especially the view out from the windshield. So I will order another and install it on my 2010. Had I not put 2 holes in the hood of the 08 model to install it, I would have took it off and saved it for the newer car.

I have to get the decklid blackout and black taillamp trim. To me it just looks better updated this way.

I might go for a more aggressive rear spoiler later... And maybe even some OE style side scoops...

It would probably be a good idea to see if the contours of the 2010 hood would allow for the proper fit of the '07-'09 hood scoop. From what I recall of the one I had on my '07, I think the slight middle ridge that goes down the middle of the '10 would cause it to not be flush. Also, I think the '10 hood has more curvature front-to-back because of the powerdome.

One possible addition would be the '12 Boss 302 hood stripe to give the contrasting color look against white. That might take the place of the '07-'09 hood scoop.

I don't the scoop on the power dome hood at all. Reminds of some pics I saw once of a spoiler on top of a spoiler

To each his own but this isn't scoop on top of scoop... It's scoop on top of dome and the real shaker kits still look good to me installed on this hood. Actually the height of the power dome on the 2010 hood is the same height as the 05-09 hood was at the cowl but the 2010 hood was actually lowered on the sides to create a power dome. I like seeing the shaker scoop from the driver's seat as it reminds me of the view I had out of my first car, a 1976 Cobra II. It's just my thing to enjoy.
