Under hood painting

I really like how some of you guys painted under the hood. I'm thinking for my next winter project to paint the coil covers and radiator cover Kona. Is that too much Kona? I'll be ordering from: www.automotivetouchup.com for the color matched spray cans and prep supplies. I going to skip painting the engine shroud because I'll be getting rid of that once I get my TVS. What are your thoughts? Any tips are greatly appreciated!

I guess unless you show it off alot it isnt worth the effort. Do something with the parts everyone sees all the time. But it will get you out of the house into the garage for a while

There's not much more to do on the outside, for now at least. I have a couple suspension upgrades I'm going to do like LCA's and panhard bar but not until spring. I figured this will look good if I'm at a show and compliment the color. And Glenn you called me out...yes it's to get out of the house lol.

I am currently painting a few things under hood on weekends. Just me the stang and the radio.. Lol I'm going to bring red from my calipers, the break lights on the car, and the dot on the 5.0 into the engine bay. Plus the big red positive battery cover, and the red injectors from factory. I am going to show it, so why not. Just something to be different, and personal touch.

Sounds like a good plan. Any pics? What process are you using to paint the plastics?

I am still experimenting with painting plastic. They have spray paint in can for plastics, but did not have luck with it. Most likely it's me not the paint. I will send pics if and when I get it done..

The plastic is room temp. The first time I just cleaned it real good and sprayed the plastic paint on. Did not look so hot, so I decided to sand it off, and try plastic primer paint, then the color. The primer bubbled up on me in places.

Did you use the primer specifically made for plastic?

Did you ever have any Armor all type stuff sprayed on it before? I wonder if that'll be an issue as I always clean up mine with Meguires. Probably going to be a pain to get completely clean.
