Stripe or no stripe

Would you recommend a white stripe or not for Kona Blue? I'm trying to decide on that option.

Not a white one, maybe silver. I really like the looks of a Black stripe on Kona, really subtle, hardly seen until your right on it. White looks tacky to me.

No stripe. If black, it's tough to see. If white, it sticks out too much, and if it's not the GT500 stripes, they look out of place IMO.

I'm getting a Kona Blue and leaving it stripeless. If I were to stripe it though, I'd go with either white or silver. I can't think of any other colors that would really complement Kona Blue.

I left the stripes off. Kona Blue doesn't need them.

I would've ordered white stripes, but they're not compatible with the glass roof...

I also have kona and am dealing with the stripe question. Classic shelby blue with the white stripes is a look that's hard to beat. The modern interpretation is also pretty **** hot.

Pewter is definately a sweet option for Kona, it's darker than silver.

That's my dilemma now, white, silver, or no stripes....
It'd be the two 10" or 8" stripes, I don't like the wide one Ford offers as an option.

Honestly, if it's not a Shelby, skip the stripes. IMO, they belong on there, and are a very distinguishing feature of the GT500. Putting them on a GT is just a bad imitation.

I'll disagree. A bad imitation would be putting Shelby on the back. Not sure how it can be 'wrong' when Ford offers a striping option.

I'm referring to the dual stripes, not the factory stripe that Ford offers for the V6/GT. To me, the stripes are no different. Same goes for a Boss stripe. The true enthusiasts know what was offered for which years, and copycatting certain features IMO is a tacky way to mod the car.

I'm partial to no stripes, but to each his own.

Mustangs are the most modded car on the planet. Since I bought my car to impress ME (and no one else, altho respect is nice), I feel I should be able to do whatever I want to my car since it's MY car. If I like the look of the stripes (and I do), I am not going to be stopped by the fact that some other can I can't afford has them.

Stripes are simply a style, not a trademark. I agree that putting actual words like Shelby/etc on a 'mere' GT is bad taste and misleading. I had a 'real' tuned-port-injected 1985 IROC-Z in the late '80's thru 1992 and it peeved me to no end to see the "IROC-Z" door decals on a V6 camaro (or worse), especially when my car had the decals and fake hood louvers removed. (I once had an debate with a date over whether MY car was a "real" IROC-Z because my car lacked the louvers and the door decals! Needless to say she only got ONE date, LOL).

Back to the subject, I have a friend that thinks adding the stripes to my car would make it look like a "high schooler's car". Oh well, that's his opinion, and I might even someday agree with it (I'm 48 now, so that's not looking likely). Like I said it's my car (well 2/3 mine and 1/3 credit union's), and I'll do whatever my wallet and wife allow and not worry about anyone else's opinion. So that's my recommendation to the O.P.

I prefer no stripes personally, especially with Kona Blue. I like the subtle look though.
