Traded in my '11 Sterling Gray GT

Howdy all. So I bit the bullet and traded up to a '13 triple black GT convertible. I feel like I stole it from the dealer. Here's the pics (post-detail).

HUGE thank you to Pristine Detailing here in the Lehigh Valley of PA for the detail, and the pics!

Hopefully this link works.

Looking good!

Mine is similar, black with red interior and Brembo's... Love it! Mine goes for a detail tomorrow!

Congrats on the new 13 Gt. Just curious but what made you want to trade your 11 5.0 for a 13 5.0 when were so close to the new 15 model? Is the 13 Gt that different than the 11 5.0 and would imagine you took a financial loss trading your 2 year old 5.0. Just curious but why wouldn't one wait to trade a 11 model in for a 15 or if one does not like the 15 model, buy a 14 model.

Hey, good questions, and all questions that have been asked about a hundred times since I got the car, so I'm prepared to answer!

I wanted to trade my '11 in because it wasn't a convertible; the '13 I bought is. Secondly, I actually didn't lose any money on the deal; in fact my car payment went down. I found a heck of a deal, and the dealer gave me 25k in trade for my '11. You have to understand I babied that car; it had 10k miles on it, and the dealer said they wouldn't even detail the car before putting it up for sale. Combine that with the fact that the car had sat on their lot for almost a year, and they really came down in price (only paid 800 more than I paid for the '11), and my payment on the car actually went down.

I was tempted to wait for the '15, but the timing was right for this transaction; my trade was worth more than it will ever be, and the price on the convertible was lower than it will be for several more years at least (if ever). I love the styling of the '13, and I will be keeping this car for a long time to come

P.S. - Oops, I really need to change my signature!
