How dark have you gone? Anyone get into any trouble yet? I'm getting mine tinted today and was just wondering how dark I should get them? Pics of any non-spray can tinted tails would be appreciated!

 

I had smoked headlights on my 95. When I had it repainted, I sent off the tails & reflectors to a guy to tint them in VHT Nite Shades. Wanted them to match. I told the guy I was looking @ the StangMods tints. He approved. I'll buy the set in smoked, later on.

Well this is what I got, just a tad darker, nothing serious.

 

Looks good and conveys the point without being too dark. You should be fine.


Mine are darker and I've been refused an annual state inspection before. I took it to the next place and they didn't say anything to me until I was done. As I was paying he told me that if I get pulled over and get a ticket I should tell the officer i put them on after the inspection if he asks.

Apparently when they pass the cars and the driver gets pulled over they will fo back to the inspector and warn them about passing these cars.

 

The only "advantage" I have is being a firefighter, but that only gets me so far

 

The boys down south don't play games huh?! Up north it's called professional courtesy, plain and simple lol.

 

Yeah, it kind of depends who pulls you over. It's a 50/50 chance.
