I've got a black GT incoming, and have been pondering some striping, but never been a fan of look-at-me-go-faster stripes. I'd like to see if anybody out there has done some matte black striping on a black car for a more stealth look.

I was pondering more subtle striping like the AM hood 5.0 stripes:

...but would welcome photos of ANY black cars with matte black striping, just to get a handle on what it might look like. After all, the above stripes are very small and in a black-on-black combo might not even be noticable enough to be worth it.

EDIT: Should also note, I'm going to be doing an unpainted lip as well, likely either the Boss lip or something along those lines, along with an RTR matte black spoiler, so looking at doing something to tie those together. Rims are on the list for year 2.

 

I don't have any pictures but I saw a black 05-09 Shelby with matte black stripes looked awesome.

You can find a few Mustangs online with the matte black stripes...they look killer!

 

I just got my GT with the satin over the hood,roof and trunk stripe. I apologize for no picture but don't know how to post them. But looks great.

 

I wasn't really after Shelby style stripes, I was more thinking like AM's stripes on the hood creases and stuff like that, but wondering if that would be TOO subtle. I did see your thread on your car, very sexy, love the look.

Would love to see some pics of yours to get a feel for the matte-black-on-black look. In advanced mode when composing a post, there's a "manage attachments" button below the message box, that'll get em up.

 

 

I plastidipped my hood and it came out pretty good. Did just the side of the cowl, then did the whole lil section. Not much of a difference but still looks good

I ended up picking up the hood crease stripes with the 5.0 emblem along with the plain rocker stripes in matte black from AM. Tempted to attempt install myself, but more of a nuts-n-bolts guy. As a kid I played with Lego, hated sticker books.
