Own a Black 'Stang? Love it, Hate it, Both ??
So far, it sounds like just about everyone loves black when it's flawless. I'm in that camp, too. My worry is me. Although I take great care of my vehicles, I have a lot of things to take care besides the Mustang that will be coming soon. As it is, I cringe at small chips and abrasions on my mid-dark metallic blue truck. So, if I project my attitude over to a new beautiful black mustang... I will surely go nuts.
Keep the comments coming. It's not too late to change my mind. (Got about another 24 hrs....)

I've said this before, I'll type again. I love, love, love my black car!! Dust is dust as dirt is dirt. Looks the same on any colored car. Dust on a tan car looks sane as on my black car. I admit I know my black shows more. I can't think like you normal guys, too. This is the way I see it.
I've always liked ford racing white on my mustangs I'm on my second in that color it's not as bad as black but it dose show dirt. All my other cars have been grey or silver and it is perfect for not showing dirt. Black is amazing but not for a daily driver.
If you have any type of O.C.D, black will either be a blessing or a curse. It shows everything! Every dent and scratch. However, if you have the time and the knowledge on how to take care of a black vehicle, then this is the color for you.
Here is my black 5.0:

You may be pokin' me with that there stick in jest, but I'm tellin' you truth: Dang near.
Being forced to wash and keep clean other black cars has traumatized me. That, and the unluck that seems to follow me when I'm associated with black cars. Wrecks, blown engines, all kinds of weird stuff.
NEVAR AGINN!!!!

Black it is !
It's done! Black. The car just looks so dang good in black.
Thanks for all the posts. I'll post some pics when I get the car.

Congrats. Just do some research on washing, drying, and protecting the finish. It doesn't take much to put fine lines or swirls in it. Other than that, black is a great color when clean.
I'm ready, otherwise I would have ordered Sterling Grey.
One thing tho... I think somewhere else in this thread, someone said they used a leaf blower to dry out the crevices and jambs on the car.... Yikes, those are high velocity fans, that take in unfiltered air, and can stir up a bunch of dust. I would think they could throw nasty little particles right into the car. How about just good ol' compressed air? A little portable compressor, hose and blow gun won't cost more than a blower. That said, an old/cheap compressor may spit oil, and most will spit a bit of water, as it is a by product of compression.
No worries, I'll keep her clean. I'm giddy now...

I would have got Sterling Grey but that option was unavailable at the time because they stopped production on 2011's and were taking custom orders (wanted a glass roof on mine) for the 2012's which they discontinued that color.
I'm about to go wash my car and I use a leaf blower and haven't noticed any problems but I'll take a closer look again. I'd say a machine polisher is a must if you own a black car to get rid of those inevitable swirls.

Really? Can't be that hard. I will be buying this kit soon and I've seen people with zero experience come out with outstanding results. http://www.adamspolishes.com/p-567-a...isher-kit.aspx
