I never liked him, but I didn't mind him when he was driving for Roush. He was a lot better than Jamie.

Interesting site. http://www.fordracing.com/news/detail/?article=28455.

Learned something new...

Ned Jarrett, who is Ford’s all-time race winner with 43
David Pearson is the manufacturer’s only multiple champion as he won 27 races and captured 26 poles en route to back-to-back titles in 1968 and '69
Pearson was driving a Ford (not a Mercury) those 2 championship seasons.
Overall Pearson had 30 wins driving a Ford and 43 driving a Mercury, or 73 total wins driving a Ford product.

Bill's up there, but the Silver Fox has more NASCAR championships (2 vs 1) and more wins driving Fords than Bill (73 vs 40).

I would rank them
1. Pearson
2. Ned Jarrett (1 championship and 43 wins)
3. Bill Elliott

Of course no one's ever gonna pass the all time Plymouth driver, R Petty had ~133 wins and 4 championships driving Plymouths.
Jeff Gordon may come close for Chevy.

You guys need to go back in the archives a little and look up Fred Lorenzen. He was one of Fords best drivers back in the '60's and he didn't even run every race every season.

I'd really like to say "Awesome Bill" (he's my all-time favorite) but he just couldn't get it done on the short tracks! My vote goes to David Pearson.

Allison was my #1. I went to Martin at the time of his unfortunate demise. Awesome Bill was greats for me, but he hasn't sat in a Ford in a long time, so I consider him a Dodge guy now.

Kulwicki would've been great I agree. In his short career, he made things REALLY exciting for the blue oval.
