What are you looking forward to next season?
Things I’m excited for next racing season . . . . .
24 Hours of Daytona
12 Hours of Sebring
Watching F1 without Michael (but I’ll miss watching him as well)
Watching Nicky Haden defend his Moto GP Championship on the ‘new’ bikes
Watching Juan Pablo in NASCAR (when I watch NASCAR)
Watching the new Panoz package in ChampCar
Possibly attending the Grand-Am/Grand-Am Cup races at Mid-Ohio & Barbers
Possibly attending the IRL race at Mid-Ohio
Watching Marcos Ambrose progress in NASCAR (still wish Ford would put him on a team to conquer Le Mans)
24 Hours of LeMans
NASCAR Bristol Night Race
The two NASCAR Road Course Events
Daytona 500
One year closer to ‘closed’ prototypes in ALMS/LeMans
The possibility of being closer to an IRL/ChampCar merger
SPEED GT World Challenge/Attending Mid-Ohio event (if they come back)
Possibly attending the NASCAR Craftsman Truck series in Kentucky
Attending a at least one ‘dirt track’ event at Lawrenceburg Speedway, IN
Attending some local ¼ mile series (OSM)
I’m sure I’ll add some more before the season starts.

Here's Robin Miller's 'Wish List' . . .
http://www.speedtv.com/commentary/34708/
*** I don't want to see NASCAR's Car of Tomorrow until three days after the end of time.
*** I don't want to hear any driver talk about the "pressure" of qualifying for the Indy 500 since there are barely 33 cars anymore and you get 12 chances.
*** I hope Champ Car has eight or nine drivers confimed by its first test in two weeks at Sebring.
*** I don't want to see any 10-lap caution periods to clean up debris in any series.
*** I don't want to hear Rusty Wallace talk about Indy cars -- ever again.
*** I don't want to see Eddie Cheever back in an Indy car (and neither does the Andretti family).
*** I don't want to see Roger Penske in victory lane again at Indy.
*** I don't want to see Ricky Rudd come out of retirement.
*** I want to see Buddy Rice and Ryan Hunter-Reay in a competitive car, be it IRL or Champ Car.
*** I want to see "The Chase" expanded to any driver over 30, former pole winners, ex-champions and Michael Waltrip.
*** I don't want to hear about USAC starting a feature at 5 a.m. unless it's racing in Japan.
*** I want to see Bryan Herta win the ALMS championship.
*** I don't want to hear a NASCAR mechanic answer a question on national television by starting out with: "Well, our Acme/Esso Desoto was running real…" Just respond in mechanical terms and crawl back under the car.
*** I want to see the new Official History of the Indianapolis 500 by Donald Davidson and Rick Shaffer that just arrived at the IMS gift store.
*** If Mark Martin mentions the word "retirement," he must forfeit all his prize money and be hanged at sunrise.
*** I don't want to hear the word "unification" unless it's during the press conference to announce there is one series in open wheel racing.
*** I want to see Juan Montoya win the Daytona 500, admit it was easy, kinda boring and then come back to open wheel racing.
*** I want to see Benny Parsons back on the golf course.
*** I want to see Alex Gurney and Jon Fogarty win the Rolex 24 at Daytona.
*** I don't want to see Tony George driving sports cars. I think sprinters might be his cup of tea.
*** I don't want Sebastien Bourdais to win his fourth straight title in Champ Car because that series needs a new storyline.
*** I want Sam Hornish Jr. to run poorly in Busch so he'll stay in Indy cars.
*** I don't want to hear Bernie Ecclestone throwing down on America or the USGP. That miserable munchkin' is lucky we don't make a hood ornament out of him.
*** I want to see Toyota win an early Cup race just to hear all the *****ing and moaning.
*** I don't want any more IROC unless there's a road course and a dirt track added.
*** I want to see Chad Knauss call a press conference after Jimmie Johnson wins his second straight Nextel Cup and admit they only cheated once -- the month of August.
*** I want to see Tracy Hines in the Indianapolis 500.
*** I want to see Paul Tracy back in victory lane.
*** I want to see Steve Kinser win one more sprint crown.
*** I want to hear Cristiano da Matta doing his impersonation of a NASCAR spotter.
*** I want to see more of Jamie Little -- on television, naturally.
*** I want Boris Said to win the Daytona 500 on the last lap by spinning out a NASCAR biggie.
*** I want to see Lewis Hamilton win a Formula One race.
*** I don't want to hear any NASCAR announcer refer to somebody running 16th as "having a great run" under penalty of death.
*** I want A.J. Allmendinger to call up Gerry Forsythe halfway through June, admit he made a judgment error, ask for his ride back and start winning again.
*** I want SPEED to give myself and Ed Hinton a weekly 30-minute show so we can **** off everyone in North American motorsports.
*** I don't ever want to hear the word "cats" used to describe a driver.
*** I want to be Graham Rahal.
*** Finally, I want to see any driver crying after he wins a race suspended for a year. There's no crying in baseball and there **** sure shouldn't be any in this macho arena. Parnelli Jones, A.J. Foyt, Bobby Unser and Mario Andretti expected to be in victory lane and acted accordingly. They posed for pictures, kissed the trophy girl, got her phone number and went down the road. That's when men were men. Racers were racers. And I really cared.

Amen to just about everything Robin Miller says. Jason, as of right now, SWC isn't scheduled to come back to Mid-O this year, but the schedule is still not complete. Not sure if they could still be added to the ALMS weekend, along with IRL and IPS.

Looking foward to another great year of MOTO GP.
Cant wait to see how the series gets shaken up with the new CC limit.
Number one on my list is running a successful season in CMC and garnering more support.

I'm looking forward Kimi Raikkonen's first year with Ferrari. Raikkonen is my favorite driver, but my favorite team is McLaren Mercedes.

I am now finally in the last hour and 20 of the 24 hour. I recorded the speed coverage. I have YET to see a single Mustang. I know they are out there. The only cars Speed shows are the DP cars and some of the GT Porsches and Pontiacs.
I have been counting the days for the next race since last October!

Dethroned Nascar Guru
We can, but I'm gonna have to pass the lead to someone else this year.
Unlike past years, my schedule at my new job is very unpredictable. I may be only have a few hours notice and be gone for months. Not too conducive to running the leagues.

Speed World Challenge is now listing a TBA on July 21-22, which, coincidently, is the same weekend ALMS and IRL are at Mid-Ohio. Looks like it could still happen. That would make for a heckuva weekend lineup, with or without the GT-1 Astons. Hopefully with.

Yes!!! SWC has been added to the IRL/ALMS weekend at Mid-O. I probably won't be going to nearly as many spectator events this year, but this one should be heck of a weekend.
On the Club Racing side, after a lengthy wait for the rear end from Winters, work is continuing on the tube frame rotary Miata. The plan for now is to run the RX-3 at Gingerman and Grattan this spring to collect points, and hopefully have the Miata ready for the June race at Mid-O. If all goes well, we may also make it out to the June Sprints at Road America. After that, We'll likely do the August race at Grattan, and possibly either Nelson or IRP before we go to the Runoffs in October.
