What races are you planning to attend this year?
There's 8 inches of snow outside my window right now, but soon it will be time to go see some loud, shiny fast things in person.
So far, my tentative plans are to crew at the SCCA Nationals at Grattan 5/10-5/11, Nelson Ledges 5/24-5/25, Mid-O, 5/31-6/1, IRP 7/5-7/6, Grattan again 8/9-8/10, and finally The Runoffs at Heartland Park 10/6-10/12. Maybe Gingerman 4/26-4/27, if the car's ready in time.
As far as spectator events, pretty much the entire season at Mid-O, except that I'll have to miss the Grand Am weekend for my sister's wedding. I'd been planning to hit the Champ Car/ ALMS double at Road America, but with no Champ Car, I'm not sure about that, now. The Detroit GP might be a possibility, though I'm not a big fan of street circuits. But if Marlboro hands me some free tickets, I'm there.
Other than that, I've never been to a dirt sprint car race, or seen Top Fuel dragsters. Eldora's not too far away, and I live pretty much right between Milan and Norwalk. I may need to address that this year. Also haven't been up to Toledo Speedway in a few years. Might have to see when ARCA's coming to town, or maybe the USAC Sprints.

. . . .
A couple of Rolex races are in the cards. Maybe a couple IRL races (at least one). Probably a couple Busch . . . . err . . . Nationwide races. Some local drag race events and I'd like to attend a dirt track event this year, and finally . . . the MotoGP race at Indy.
Dan, I'd like to see your team race as well this season. I need to start putting dates on the calendar.

The SCCA Nationals aren't usually open to the public, but if you let me know a couple weeks in advance, we can probably get you listed as crew so you can get in for free. And they wonder why we call it the "Secret Car Club of America."

ALMS has some pretty cool support series. Speed World Challenge, both GT and Touring put on an awesome show. I'd have to say it's my favorite pro series. Star Mazda's always pretty good, too. Huge field for an open wheel series.
