SCCA A-Sedan race this Sunday

Speed Channel is in the middle of showing the SCCA Runoffs from Mid-Ohio every weekend this month. One of the four races shown this weekend will be for A-Sedan, which features '79- '05 Mustangs vs '82-'02 Firebirds and Camaros. To even the odds a bit, they all run 5.0 liter carbureted V-8s, making somewhere between 350-400hp. This is good stuff.

Now this is racing that is actually worth watching. NASCAR and F1 are about as entertaining to me as somehting not entertaining. Actually F1s not that bad, I guess its just NASCAR that sucks.

The winner, John Heinricy, is a vice president of performance development at GM, so he gets the good stuff. He also won the T-1 race in his Z06, and has done a few one-offs in Pro races at Mid-O, including SWC GT in the 3rd CTSV-R, and GA Cup, both in a CTS-V and the new Cobalt. Pretty cool guy, even if he does work for the wrong brand.
McDerrmitt was faster though, and I think if he hadn't spun he might have caught him.
Kristian Smith, who was in the red and black SN-95 that finished 3rd, was paddocked right near us. Those A-sedan guys can sure throw a party.
